red clothing; when would you stop?

ds is in 2nd grade and we do dark colours for pants, ANY colours for shirts (but no words or logos).

On Shabbos he wears beige / light brown pants sometimes (usually - black), and I love the look, especially with a black jacket. But I won't be able to get away with that for too long.

Oh, and his coat is RED. Almost fire engine red, and I love it b/c:

1. I can actually SEE my kid a mile away, no matter how many other kids are there with him or between us

2. It's a bright colour that is easily seen by drivers

3. Dds can ware it b/c it's not an inherently boy-ish colour.

Just tell that mother that your husband lets. Or your shita is that it's ok. Or it;s your family minhag to ware red on sertain days (like, when the red top ends up in your hand when you reach for a top to put on on ds).

that's why dd's school only allowed bright orange tee shirts for the kids in camp! much safer!

Wearing red is brought down in the Gemara - Brachos 20 - it doesn't say it's outright not allowed - just it's not the way of Jewish Women - nothing about men/boys!
