My sons are not exactly docile in the bathtub and usually my floor around the tub ends up getting soaked. I'm looking for suggestions. Any ideas. Usually, I end up using a big towel on the floor like a mat, and then hanging it over the side of the bathtub till the next bath, but I just don't like doing it all that much. Looking for a better idea.

I have a bath mat, there isn't much you can do really when they splash loads apart from putting a load of towels around the bath area.
Other thing would be to try to get them to stop throwing water out the tub.

lol. I have the same problem. We have a bath towel (it's for this purpose, it's not a regular towel) and we hang it to dry as well. We don't put a whole lot of water in the tub either.

Not sure there is much more you can do...

I try to be mean, but it just doesn't work. No matter how many times I remind them and pull them out of the tub, give them 3 or 4 days and they forget. And sometimes, it just gets soaked anywya, even without splashing.

That's what I do too. With the curtain around the inner tub, I really don't get much water splashing out.

I took away the tub, when I was pg with Liora I couldn't bend over anymore, so I told the kids one day it was broken and they had to shower. B"H it works and they have been showering ever since. Every now and then they will ask when am I going to fix it, I told them when Dov the plumber has time to fix it. One shabbat my 3yr old saw dov in the street and point blank asked him if he could fix our tub, he is getting tired of taking showers. (I also took them out of the tub as it was too dangerous they kept runing and doing marathons inside.)

Sorry I couldn't be of much help.

ha ha ha. My son does swimming and then obviously kicks his legs, but i told him he can't kick too hard because it will splash everywhere and he actually listened...but then throwing water over me is hysterical until he gets told off.
I have given a shower occasionally and he was quite good with it.
But baths i like better as it really calms him down before he goes to bed.

I have a bad back, so as soon as my kids could stand it, I gave them showers (around age 2). We have/had bath mats and they get soaked from showers, too, especially when my 8 y.o takes a shower :ha. I don't like them as much b/c they don't dry out as well as towels, which is what we use now.
