I'm so excited! Today is Hallie's mock sedar. My MIL will be home here with the Ari so I can go for Hallie alone. :) She's been practicing her songs all week. SO cute! |

Me too...I remember they'd give us egg matzah...and a gefilte fish ball for "Shulchan Orech"...and a macaroon for dessert! lol, it was very cute. |

It was so cute! The kids had fun. The rabbi went over each item on the sedar plate, including the chocolate marshmellow. (which of course was gobbled up quickly). The kids participated, but I feel this rabbi has an ego problem and wants to be the center of attention. He's been fired from other shul's for various reasons, this being one of them. But, the kids enjoyed themselves and even had a ruach session of the floor when it was all done. Too bad the parents don't get to eat though.. I was hungry and everything smelled so good! |

Um.. it represents the sweetness in the Jewish soul! The chocolate represents the cravings in the heart.... |

Nothing really to explain. Strange rabbi.... he knew the kids would only eat the chocolate on the plate so he felt an explanation was necessary for it. I think he was just being funny. |

Oh. I always hear about "alternative" traditions with the seder plate, had never heard of that one... The kids didn't want the charoses? |

The most alternative I've heard is the orange on the sedar plate. I learned about it at the Miriam's Sedar I attended. No.. the kids don't like charoses.. but since it's a nut free school, it wasn't an option today. Some nibbled on the matzah and Hallie ended up trying the egg. |
