I just woke my 3 year old up to go to the bathroom, I don't think his eyes even opened during the entire process. As I put him back into bed, with his eyes still closed, He turned his head toward me and asks "Why, green eggs and ham are not kosher?"

Can you guess what his favorite book is?? ;) :ha

In Hebrew itis called "Ani lo raev, ani lo ohev". (I am not hungry and I do not like it). You are never told what that piece of green meat on the plate is.

green eggs and ham is one of my favorites. I think its OK to have ham in the book, I use it as a kosher concept, and occassionally weread it as Green Eggs and Lamb. my kids think it is really funny when we do it.

I bought quite a lot of Dr Seuss books for my son and they are great to read and he loves them (plus Sam is like his name in that book).

lol! that's cute!

Speaking of ham, I remember once having the word in a spelling list in elementary school and the teacher tried hard to explain why the word is there and then said it's in the word hamburger and hammer, etc and that's why we have to know it :D

I once went w/a nonJewish bf to a kosher style deli and he ordered a hamburger. They told him, "Here we say beef patty". pThe place was totally treif and you could see plenty of people w/corned beef sandwhiches or matza ball soup w/cheese blintzes on the side.

Yes, I see, But IMHO opinion, saying ham will not hurt the child. I think Knowing what is and isn't kosher is a good thing. I don't want my kids to think they are not allowed to say ham, simply because it is not kosher. I already battle with the "if you are a goy then you must be bad" issue.
