For the third time in the last 2-3 months, I got a call from Ru's school that he was acting sicka nd he said his throat was really hurting him. The first time, I was really concrened and I went to pick him up pretty much right away. He came home, and suddenly, he was all better!! Second time, I basicalyl said I'm not picking him up. He came home at regular time and was just fine. Third time was today. They called at 10:30. I didn't have the car so I waited for dh to finish teaching at 12:30. I called back, they said he was really out of it. So dh went to pick him up. He's home now, havinga blast and feeling fine, bH! ANy ideas? |

How old is your son? Does he have any issues/difficulties with the other children at school? |

He's 4 years old and bH, is a very social child and happy, though at times he's came home and told one kid in particular hit him or punched and morah put that kid into time out. It never really bothered him all that much. |

speaking of kids bothering your kid- I'm in the middle of a whole situation with DD at kindergarten right now...she came home yest. with a bruise under her eye, apparently given to her by a little girl who didn't like that DD was useing the potty when she had to "go", so she pinched DD in the face and locked her in the bathroom...DD toled me she was crying (duh!) and no one repremanded/punished/took care of the sitch, :tantrum except to give DD ice for her face. I'm lucky she didn't refuse to go to school today! (I did call the teacher last night as well ask speak to her and the assistant today, hopefully they'll take care off all this tomorrow  ) |

I think condundrum may have guessed it - I have a similar situation w/ ds. Sometimes teachers don't realise that one kid bullies others, as often bullies know that if they do it openly, they'll be punisherd. See if talking to your son about the REAL reason doesn't want to go to school/stay in school will give you any ideas. Also, tell him that you & the teachers want to help him, but you can't if he won't tell what bothers him. Then, keep close eye on the issue and be in touch w/ teahers all the time - and other mothers may be thankful to you for all you know. Good Luck! |
