What he is being encouraged in is that right now there is a faction within the yishuv, part of a larger faction in Yesha, who are not happy that Lubavitch does not have the traditional Charedi attitudes towards yishuvim.

Could you please explain this?
I have no idea what you are referring to since my friends in yishuvim are DL and we never spoke about Chabad/lubavitch. I didn't know there was something going on.

99.99% of the problem is in the Shomron regional council as opposed to Binyamin or the south, Gush, Har Chevron.

In some yishuvim there are significant groups of Chabad. When we came as 7 families to Yitzhar we were nearly one third of the yishuv. Many yishuvin have one lone guy who cares about EY because the Rebbe said so.The rav welcomed us because he knew he had automatic allies on kashrus, tznius, etc. Our yishuv is influential way above its size. When I went to register my kids in Chabad, I have a legal right to choose from 3 different streams - mamad, mamlachti or bilti mukar (Chabad, Shas, Aguda). The woman from the moetzah has refused to recognize my kids as being registered. She told me that they are students at the mamad in Elon Moreh who don't show up in class and my childrens' school did not receive funding for them.

The election here is very close and they know that the Chabad community does not publicly support a candidate but we routinely "thank" the Rosh moetzah at the polls.

The prob w/us is:
1. We don't vote Mafdal ever and very seldom Ichud Leumi. We also do not vote as a block as the Rebbe was adamently against Chabad being part of a political party. Who we vote for is a private matter.
2. We will keep our kids home before sending them to any mixed school from age 3. We also will keep them home if other mitzvos are lax, like tznius. I excersized my legal right to cancel all registrations to schools my children were not attending and registering them manually in their real schools. Others did likewise.
3. While we have, for the most part, tried to be just normal contributing members in our yishuvim we are in most places barred from serving on major committees, being baal koreh on Shabbos or YT,l representing the yishuv in any forum. They will send someone who got married and moved here last week before they will send one of us who has lived here for 15 years.
4. One yishuv pushed their baal Mecolet because as Chabad he was too kosher. The rabbi led the fight for less kashrut. They are trying to do the same thing to us even though it destroys the our parnassa and that of my two grown sons who work in the store. We carry less expensive meat that is glatt and was approved by the rav for families who are porer. The ones complaining about us even carrying the better hechsher, more mehadrin meat are people who can afford it much more than those who buy it with mesirus nefesh.
5. The reaction by some has been to try to out charedi us by following the Gra, Chazon Ish, etc. L'briut, but don't bother us and our children.
6. The rav of Elkana just went to the super anti religious Supreme Court to stop the shaliach there from building a mikva. They claimed that the rav said that Chabad is not part of Orthodox Judaism and therefore the mikva would not be kosher. The religious judge who gave them the victory said that as much as he disliked the decision, he was not willing to overturn the precedent that matters of religion are determined by the rav and not the state. Unfortunately, I agree.
7, Our kids have taken the front lines w/Yitzhar/Chevron on the givaot. They are not agreeable at all to this idea that you sacrifice small or weak yishuvim, anyplace we have built to theoretically save Ofra and Bet El (or even Migron and Amona) for the time being. Its the same mentality that some Jews have in times of oppression. Sacrificing one guy to save the rest is assur in halacha.
8. Chabad in a small way is something the moetzet Yesha want to cast in a bad light to save their respectability with Likud type politicians. Major DL beurocrats have taken jobs with the Likud and they tricked a good number of settlers into joining it. When the houses were destroyed in Amona, Yitzhar was called to send troops. A small yishuv sent 2 buses and private cars. In the middle of the night, before the balagan, the rav called all of Yitzhar home, adults and youth. He learned that the whole reason they requested our help was to say that outsiders from Yitzhar, Tapuach and Chabad caused the violence and the good kids from yishuvim were not like that. B"H the good kids of Shilo, Ofra, Bet El, etc. and especially Gush Katif did us proud and it looked just like a pinui in Yitzhar.

In short there are 2 major issues. Power and funding, political opportunism. Some built an edifice to give themselves a municipality to run and to pass it on to their children (the same reason the frei yishuvim also hate them). Those of little faith think they are going to lose their little kingdom and are making friends elsewhere. As I said above, we vote issues and do not think a party is above all.

We do not worship institutions as having a G-dly halo. HaTikva or the sight of a soldier in uniform does not make our brain cease working. Allow the army and the state to act like nazis to 10,000 Jews, men, women and children because the state and army are more holy? Ridiculous. The DL youth don't buy it anymore either. HaShem Hu Melech. Of course now they are trying to regain the younger generation with poodle rabbonim. I think we are considered a hindrance to lulling their youth back to complacency.

We came from love of EY and because the Rebbe spoke from 1967 that there were those waiting to give it all away and endanger millions of Jews in EY. We were suprised that many functionaries in the yishuvim did not agree with that and had their political future in mind. Every Lubavitcher in the yishuvim has made tremendous sacrices and criticism from parts of our own community. Some have done everything in their power to make it hurt even more.

I am doing 2 days worth of posting because I was gone with Rachmiel for 2 days and...drum roll...he wants to be back on Monday already. The whole way he was saying that he was going to go in, ask his questions and leave.

I am not 100% convinced as there is not a lot of structure and they badly need an organizational type. Should we get him in (its twice the price of reg Chabad yeshiva, 1200 sh/mo) just so he'll be in a misgeret? It is mamash just like being on a giva but connected to the Chabad community in Tzfat as opposed to a yishuv in yesha. They live in a caravan, cook dinner for themselves with their madrich. Spiritual benefit is mik is that of Smaya and Avtalyon and they daven shacharis every day by R' Shimon. They have 2 sedorim until 6. Once a week to the pool, computers (no games or movies on them). Second seder is in the zal of the yeshiva gedola in Tzfat w/chavrusas among the bachurim supervised by one of the rabbonim. I want to take him up w/dh in ds's car to take his stuff. The money will be tight , but unfortunately we saved a year and a half worth of tuition before this.
