Some background

I have 14 yo b/g twins. My son skipped 8th grade last year and went to 9th. So my daughter is graduating 8th and my son is finishing 9th.

I have no idea what to buy her for her graduation (or even if I should buy her anything, but I think I should, she took 2 regents courses in 8th grade and has been working very hard). Also if I buy her something shouldn't I also buy something for my son?

Ideas please?

Dd got a set of seforim for her graduation, as did I. Are you looking for something like that or something more fun?

I think a shopping spree is fun and maybe a way for you and dd to get in a little special mother/daughter time? Or you can tell her that the two of you are going out for a special lunch together? It was always a rite of passage in my family to get a new piece of jewlery and/or an outfit when we graduated from a significant grade (my mom even brought me a new dress when she came to my college grad :) )

Oh, and regarding your son - didn't he already get something when he graduated from 8th grade? Or was that the grade he skipped? O.K. I just looked - I see now that he skipped the 8th grade. Yes, he should get something too.

I always try to both, something ruchnius and gashmius. Like I just bought dd a sefer and a pair of earrings for her BD. Girls always like shopping. Ds deserves not to be left out just because he is a good student. Boys are definitely harder to buy for. It is more individual.
