I think I can trump you all.. two teenage girls, who cycle together, going through PMS while on a trans-Atlantic flight and having to pack their own stuff AND sit together for over 9 hours.

You guys aren't going to believe this. Just in Elul they went horseback riding, slichos at the kotel and water skiing! I think I found a country club for undeserving teenagers instead of a yeshiva. Funny, the complaints about going are getting less...

And they are even learning, I got neat binders home with their notes in SA, Gemora, Chassidus and Navi.

They also did something really smart. They asked the kids to fill in a page to allow a leveling of expectations. They asked the kids to write what they expected from the yeshiva, menahel, mashpia, rabbonim, friends and themselves.

Wow! What an awesome school!!!

I love what the prof did with the binders and asking the students to write in the info. It gives them a sense of empowerment to feel as if they have a say (and that what they say is interesting). Very smart.

I'm not wasting another thread to continue this saga. On a good mommy roll I decide to redo their rooms as we are having the house painted after YT. I sit with each of them. My nephew doesn't say what he likes only lets you know that you blew it if he doesn't like it. My Shmuel likes n o t h i ng. Especially the beautiful expensive bed I wanted to buy and any other kid would die for. DH is prob relieved because of the gelt. Rachmiel is another story. The big boys call him the princess. He sat with me with catalogs and discussed, chose and argued. When he understood my plan we came to agreement about room set up and chose the new beds. When one bed was put up he and my nephew were ok with it until somebody had a complaint and now "I'm not sleeping in there because you ruined my room". :ouch :ouch Then the big kid who opened his mouth says to me "How can you spend all that money w/o asking him first?" :tantrum Posted Image Now dh has chimed in because he was iffy about redoing everything and if the kids aren't happy with it... In the meantime I have been moving furniture alone all day because they are all pissed at me.
