how should i deal with the changing of the clock? my son goes to bed between 7:30 and 8 and wakes up between 6 and 6 :30. i have tried putting him 2 bed earlier and later and nothing helps. i cannot wakeup before 7 or it messes up my whole day so i just lay on the couch. what am i going to do if he starts waking up at 5 with the time change? any advice please for helping him sleep later in general and with the time change. |

It normally takes a few days for kids to adjust to the time difference. If it's hard, start a day earlier. Or two days.. start Friday night and try and put them to bed at the "new" time and wake up at the new time, so when Monday morning comes they'll have a few days under their belt. I'm not looking forward to it either! |

I have to say that I was relieved when DS came into our room at 6.45 this morning - not too bad considering the clocks went back last night! He is now in bed - about 1/2 hr earlier than his usual bedtime. I find it takes a few days for them to adjust and DS generally sleeps better in the winter when it gets dark early and is stays dark for longer in the morning. |

I don't like how they pushed off the time-change by a week just to save on electricity. It has ruined pacemakers and other electrical devices that go by time. I don't know where I read that - but I did. I thought we had to change the clocks back this past weekend. |

Yes, I also like fall time change. We do it by law every Shabbos teshuva so the fast is shorter on YK. |

Last year we did it earlier. I don't get it. Why is it so arbitrary? |

they changed it this year- something about more sunlight and such. UGH! Just one big headache to me. Means Zu will be getting up at 6am instead of 7am. |

I thought it was always this time of year but then last year was the test/trial thing to make it earlier so we'd have extra day light... Obviously whoever thought of it doesn't have kids.... |
