Ah - Desitin. If you ever need to know how to get it out of clothing, let me know. Oh heck - I'll go ahead and post it. Work vaseline into it until it comes out, then scrub the spot with Dawn dishwashing detergent. Works even on old Desitin stains. You think I've done that one a few times? One of our friends still tells of coming to our house as a bochur and just as he and dh were going to leave for shul and I was going to light candles, we found the 'dynamic duo' of my oldest two boys had covered their entire bodies (hair included) in Desitin. |

My son who is also not yet too did this less than a month ago! A bunch of hatzalah guts came to my house and took him with an ambulance to the ER where we spent the next 4 hours! As my four year old said to us, "he tried and he tried and then he got it opened!" he drank four oz of it! BH he threw up himself before it could do any damage. Last thursday this same child took a red marker and colored his ears....all the way down his ear canal, Its been a week and his ears are still extra pinkish. He has also christened two 200.00 phones in the toilet, one will never work again, the other BH recovered. He also washed my floor with toilet water. He is my third child, and He makes more trouble than the other two combined, and trust me on this....that says ALOT. His brothers are a very creative bunch, but this one tops them all! |

I could see being frustrated by the challa being eaten but "awww", at least he was cute about it. An almost 3 year old very quiet when you discover him with an open bottle of children's tylenol (and his breath smells like it). I didn't know how much had been inside the bottle BEFORE he got to it. I guess this is why I keep poison control on my phone... |

Yes. I got great advise to always have a box of matza at home from a person who found on Shabbos morning that her 2 year old took exactly 1 bite out of each challa and they were left without shleimim. A quiet 1 1/2 year old, sitting nicely in his carriage in a bakery. Supposed to be scribbling in Mama's notepad on his stroller tray- instead he's drawing on the bakery's wallpapered walls!! |

my brother and I did that as kids! Except we glued them all around the hallway to the bathroom door and made a gigantic arrow! My quiet 17 month old just spilled 6 0z of black pepper onto my kitchen floor. |

A quiet 3 year old and a quiet 6 year old... A sheet tied in a very tight knot to the top bunk, several plastic swords and shields, one princess outfit... And a very loud thump as they BOTH took hold of the sheet and swung down off the castle to the floor. They are totally fine (B"H sister was smart enough to put a bunch of pillows on the floor) but the the boom must have had the neighbors thinking we are testing missiles in here! |

Just saw this thread, and feel thankful that my kids haven't challenged my coping skills in the same way some of yours have. I did call poison control when my ds ate the end of my new silicon spatula. And another kid was "helping" to set the table for seuda shlishit, and modified our two lovely challas by taking a piece out of each. He tried to put one back together, and dh said it wasn't significant enough, which is just as well, because the that was the last of the challah and the matza box was empty! I have various parts of the house that are waiting to be cleaned from the coloring and writing attempts of some of my kids (not all 2yos). Cement fireplace, plastic folding table, walls, doors, and our phone number on the end of a bed (6yo couldn't figure out how I knew it was him, not his 2yo brother!). I just can't keep up with them - I think they feel they need to replace anything I manage to remove! |
