I miss the snow so much, we get a few inches and the city goes into deathcom 5. My parents didn't find it as wonderful as I do, they have been shovelling like savages for days.

Yeah.. that's the disadvantage of snow. It's pretty to look at, but otherwise kind of a pain. (oh, unless you ski or enjoy other outside sporty thing)

I have a pic similar to that. Dh, ds#2 and I had to climb over it and slide down the other side. I have to see if I can find it.

Wow! It's so beautiful (I've never seen the statue of liberty in real life).

its an awesome experience to be inside- i remember climbing it in 2nd grade. its long spiral stairscases up and down- with little seats built into them for if you have to rest.

when my mom was little you could climb to the torch- for us the crown. not sure if thats still open or not

EDITED: confirmed with my mom this weekend that she only did the crown as well

Actually, Peter and I are terrible sunday tourists in our own area. We map out things to do and see in our province and then take off on Sundays!

We even have a website with our pics... it's all in Swedish, but we have some great pictures there.

I have a story with lady liberty. When I was on honeymoon with ex he wanted to climb it. I have a terrible fear of heights. There is an elevator but only for handicapped and coming down. The sign on the wall said the temperature inside was over 100 and I have a unusually extreme fear of heights (nearly fell off the George Washington bridge, 'nother long story). Young people in love are stupid and with promises of help and everything will be fine I started up. About half way I couldn't take it any more and asked to go back down in the elevator and they refused. My ex begged and they still refused. I yelled and they still refused. I sat on the steps and cried and nobody could move up or down in the sweltering heat. Eventually some big shot gave them the ok to let me go down the elevator. That was a case of temporary insanity I will not repeat again. What was he thinking would happen if I made it to the top and found out that it was so open?
