Supposedly there was an argument among some non-Orthodox community (don't know the exact details) about whether a woman could be a rabbi or something like that. So one of the big people in that community said that a woman can become a rabbi just like an orange can be on a seder plate (meaning it will never happen). Since then, some members of the community began putting an orange on the seder plate. Just so people are aware -- you're making a statement if you're doing this. |
