Hi, I'm looking to buy good story books for young kids. Prefferably stories of tzadikim etc. Prefferably with quality language ; ). I saw a thread on this before, but I can't find it now. Can we reopen it? Or direct me to the old one? thanks! |

My son loves a book by Genendel Krohn called Who Is The Builder - an adaptation of the midrash about Avraham "discovering" Hashem. The pictures are gorgeous and the dialogue nicely written. http://www.feldheim.com/cgi-bin/category.c...category=search There's a whole series of books illustrated by Ruth Beifuss and written by "Ima shel (I think) Chani", which, if available in English, are very worthwhile. |

At that age, my son likes the series "Let go to shul", "Let's go to school", etc Also the "Label and Yossi" books. |

I really enjoy reading "stories strait from Avi's heart" and "Stories strait from Mommie's hear". They love them too, and they have beautiful illustrations. |

my kids are 4, 2.5 and 1. I am looking for something more advanced than Yossi and Label and Stories from Avi's heart. Those are great, we have them, but I was looking for something like bedtime stories of tzadikim. I suppose it is geared more toward 1-2 graders. |

Stories Straight from Mommy's Heart are more sophisticated than "Avi's". Longer stories, more complex emotions. They are a little beyond my 3yo's comprehension, I think. But, my 6yo and 8yo understand them, and like to discuss the emotions and dilemmas in the stories. |
