I'm sitting here starving. Today, I learned that Manischewitz Pesach pancakes look surprisingly like normal pancakes. I made a batch, and it looked very impressive on the plate. Then we actually tasted them. YUCK! Food should not come with an aftertaste. It was garbage day, so the leftovers finally got tossed. We've been eating lots of matza and lots of eggs. It's getting tired. The kids also discovered that potato starch pizza looks much better in the box than it actually tastes. The only good thing is that instead of gaining weight like I do during Pesach trips to Israel, I'm down a few pounds. Bran matzo will do that. |

Wow, JRK - I hate feeling that way. That's how I felt when I was in the Beit Hachlama in Jerusalem (as opposed to Telstone). There was so much food I couldn't eat. Funnily enough, as a Lubavitcher, I still find that we always have so much to eat on Pesach and no one ever complains. Maybe the difference is knowing that there's no relying on packaged stuff, but rather you've got to make everything from scratch, so you simply plan differently. There are also things that I make only on Pesach that I can make during the year (because the kids love it so much) like potatoe kugel fried in a frying pan rather than made in the oven, (no, we don't use tons of oil...) so I think the kids don't get bored of it so quickly. I will admit that Pesach is terrible for your waist-line  I mean, you can only eat a certain amount of potatoes without puttingon weight... |

I'm not bored yet!! I just finished the flourless chocolate cake, and brisket, but I still have 3 kugels left and enough chicken to get me through to the end. I made the kids chicken nuggets which they love, thankfully! I happen to love matzah brie as well, nice and sweet with syrup! I might change it up tomorrow and make it salty.. I am not really a big bread fan so my diet of yogurt, salads and other foods really hasn't changed. I can do one week without my regular carbs but I do eat jelly rings and mandelbrot cookies so my sweet tooth is covered. I don't normally eat junk so this is my week for that stuff. |

We made giant chef's salads last night with leftover turkey and some salami dh got. Lot of fresh veggies - colored peppers, avocados - , eggs, homemade salad dressing. It was a nice change from the matzah fest. |

Wow, I feel like we have way to much choice and can't seem to decide what to make each night. My kids are in heaven cause we have so many apples and bananas in the house and I made icies. I guess it helps that we make everything from scratch. |

Wow, snacks wise we are SO good. I have the dehydrator so I can make dried fruit, fruit snacks, etc... I am making french fries for the kids as a treat right now and they are eating them faster than I can cook them! I made zucchini and potato chips earlier. My meatloaf is a HUGE hit and its almost surprising. I took ground lamb and turkey and mixed it. I threw a bunch of carrots, potatoes, and onions into the food processor and mixed it all together. I dumped some homemade tomato sauce (got to love the tomato peeler for saving me hours of work!) on top and baked covered. SO good! My kids and guests could not eat enough. They went through 2 trays in 2 days! |

I'm not really missing much yet. Most of the stuff we have been eating is made from scratch, because everything processed has cottenseed oil, and my son breaks out in hives from the stuff. I do use gebructs and kitniyot too, but not much in the way of non fresh ingredients this year. |

We eat gebrokts but don't buy too much ready food. DD1 and I are doing okay. DH is starting to complain, and DD2 is on a hunger strike. She's pretty much eating cheese and raisins. I did get her to eat applesauce today. And she loves the KLP cereal (gebrokts and potato starch versions), which I cannot understand at all. Still, I'm looking forward to the end of the chag. I miss my kitniyos. |

We eat gebrukts but only shmura matza so we have to make everything gebruktz from scratch. My kids are living on matza pizza (take a matza, put on sauce and cheese and bake (I have a pesach toaster oven for dairy). Also we had a cookout on a disposable grill. |

We only eat from scratch, no gebrochts. DD 1 and DS are on a Pesach food strike. Since ds is still nursing - his diet nowdays is mostly mommy. I am proud of myself - I only made the same kind of potatoes once! So we had boiled potatoes, baked potatoes, sliced thinly and baked potato crisps, mashed potatoes, and drum roll.... I made latkes today. |
