Hehe, realeez...you sent me that very same message in g-chat ;)

i figured you'd read that first :D

anywho, did I mention I should really get a heated keyboard and foot pedal?

B)

I'm still waiting for my first post-pesach slurpee (that should add to the coldness around here :D)

I passed by Mac's on my journey to get bread and I really contemplated getting a slurpee. It was just too cold! Plus, I'm not supposed to be drinking caffeine...7-up/sprite is just not the same as coke :(. You think a small coke slurpee would make my baby go crazy? :)

If you had a couple a day, maybe - but here and there, I wouldn't worry! Anyways, we started liking 7-up slurpees way better!

Really? I like coke much better than sprite. In my pop drinking days, Barq's was my favourite.

We had a lovely Pesach, although erev was kind of exhausting. We arrived Thursday afternoon. My mother had planned to do most of the cooking over the weekend before, but my sister got unexpectedly engaged in Israel ( :banana ) and she flew off Wednesday night and returned Monday night, exhausted. This sister, who's supposed to do all desserts and baking, arrive Tuesday night instead of Monday as planned, even more exhausted. So not much was done before I came.

I got up 3.30 AM erev Shabbos (baby woke up ready to face the day) and started working at about 5.30. I made mayonnaise, four salads, three complicated kugels, apple crisp, chocolate mousse, most of the seder plate, grilled chicken, yapchik, and so on and on. Bathed the kids, grabbed a shower, cleaned up during and after, etc. Somehow, I survived the day. B"H the seder wasn't that night, is all I can tell you.

Rest of Pesach was lovely. Gorgeous weather, lovely outings. More food. More cooking, more cooking.

We packed all the Pesach stuff in moving boxes, since my mother expects to move before next Pesach. Got the kitchen turned over by a bit past midnight and everything finally put away by the next afternoon.

whew.

My younger son keeps asking me for matzah pizza. He's been eating it for breakfast the last few days. Which is even stranger considering we don't eat gebrokts. :)

my boys took it for lunch yesterday! (just cheese on matza from the toaster oven - which was their staple on pesach, well chol hamoed- my $18 toaster oven was worth every cent!)

I've been using square machine matzah (which we don't use on Pesach). Shmura matzah has a funny smell when it comes out of the oven. (We tried both.)

I'm still trying to unpack the chametz dishes.
Our cleaner helped to put things away, and she is tall. Also, I didn't see where she put everything. I'm still looking for basic things, trying to undo what she did (because I can't reach most things without climbing, and some even with the stepstool). And, she didn't show up the last two weeks and I can't get in touch at the number she gave us.
So, looks like I gained a mess to untangle and lost a cleaner. I'm really busy with work right now, and need the extra chores like a hole in the head!

I gotta love having teenagers this time of year. They're useful for something....sometimes....  :D

Dd washed all the dishes while I put everything away. And ds#1 took the countertops to the garage. Having 2 extra hands (or 4, for that matter) was a big help.

Free slaves? Not really. Considering the time, effort and money we put into them, technically, they owe it to us. :D :ha
