Can I make cholent on a hot plate?
I usually made it in crockpot, but it becomes really overcooked.
Or is hot plate just for warming the food?

I don't think a hotplate will actually cook the cholent to a point that I'd be comfortable eating it. Maybe you can try adjusting your cholent recipe so it doesn't become overcooked? Maybe you can try adding a little more water? putting in less barley? I use a crockpot every Shabbos and never have a problem with it being overcooked.

sorry, I meant the crock pot. I usually put mine on high till right before shabbat, then I turn it to keep warm, as the low makes it into charcoal. You have to give up a burnt offering or two in order to figure out some of these crock pots :)
