Questions are normal, especially for his age. Allow him the freedom to process the information and wrap his head around it.

Yes, he may say 'uncomfortable' things to his grandparents, but that's okay - it's normal and healthy for him to ask difficult questions and you do him no favors if you take away this opportunity from him.

You did the right thing and you should feel confident in the fact that you are giving your ds the opportunity to learn about life from a loving environment, while still being aware of difficult situations like death.

Sorry for your loss!

I agree with the decision to tell him. All children process things at different levels. It's important to answer his questions b/c they are important to him. If this is his first time dealing with this, it'll take some time.

Personally, I think children can handle more than we give them credit for.
