I feel like throwing him through a window or off the roof. (Emphasis on the "feel". ;) ) I'm not going to go through what he did. I just feel pulling his hair out- I don't have enough left of mine to pull out. lol

Why do teenagers push us to the brink? Why do they feel compelled to test us until the breaking point? Can I put him into hibernation until his brain returns?

Ok, rant over. Thank you for listening.

Thanks!

My 9 y.o. does too. He's going to give us a run for the money when he hits puberty.

Sent all the teens to camp for 8 weeks. Expensive, but keeps the peace...

Someone told me a cute quote that he feels is true - when your kids are toddlers, you would love to eat them up and when they are teenagers, you wonder why you didn't ;)

I really, really want to press "pause" right now, because my kids are honestly at the perfect age: everyone is toilet trained, no one needs a stroller, they are still really sweet and love their mommy, and they haven't hit puberty.

They are 4, almost 6 and almost 9, and I know this won't last forever....

Yes, but with teens you can leave the house without them! I actually miss the freedom since I have an 8 yo at home with me and I have to think about him before I can go anywhere.

Or fast forward until they become adults.

I totally agree. I think I'm going to look into cryogenics as an option for the next few years. :D

Most teens don't until they have one of their own.

Remember that killing them is assur till we are fully out of the 9 days. I have 2 on the waiting list right now and one has only been home since Thursday. I imagine after what my older one just told me the 3rd will also earn a place on the list. I was just told that Eicha, maariv and kinot were not so urgent but in throwing bungeklach they became spitz chassidim. :burn

So, after Monday it's ok to kill them? And if I throw them out of the window but make sure they're alive, then that's permissible?

SM, I think its ok if don't hit them with a strap. Mine were punished by refusal to let them them join their yeshiva friends in Y-m. The evening behavior called into serious question how much time they would actually spend at an overcrowded kotel.

CM, bungelach grow on trees and I have no idea what they are called in English or Hebrew. My neighbor happens to have a tree full of them right now.
Quote:

Once upon a time Shmuel Munkes threw a burr at Shlomo Karliner to lighten his spirits one Tisha B’Av. The ever-jolly Shmuel Munkes couldn’t stand to see other Jews so engulfed in angst, especially because he saw this as feigned melancholy and not a real expression of grief for the Beis Hamikdosh. In a jolt of anger Shlomo Karliner told the Alter Rebbe, “People like him are responsible for the destruction of the Beis Hamikdosh.” The next morning the two of them were walking through the woods where they heard the most terrible sobbing coming from the distance. As they neared they beheld Shmuel Munkes secluded alone, lying in an anthill, being bitten up as wept in agony. The Reb Shlom then remarked, “Because of people like him, the Beis Hamikdosh will be rebuilt.”

Throwing bungelach is sort of an informal minhag that kids can over do. (Was that said delicately?)
