testosterone poisoning.
Now we have to come up with an antidote. Or better yet- a vaccine.

Anyone besides me think that birth order has a lot to do with it too? My first had me tearing my hair out by about age 10. I seem to be having a much easier time with the next few. Or maybe Hashem is just giving me a breather.

I hope you're right. Because my almost nine year old is the first. If I really have until the rest of them are proper teenagers then I'll be happy!

Most teens don't until they have one of their own.

Remember that killing them is assur till we are fully out of the 9 days. I have 2 on the waiting list right now and one has only been home since Thursday. I imagine after what my older one just told me the 3rd will also earn a place on the list. I was just told that Eicha, maariv and kinot were not so urgent but in throwing bungeklach they became spitz chassidim. :burn
I seem to recall last October you were recalling how you were rather "shtark" about the "minhag" of causing mayhem on Halloween as a kid. How hard does your mother laugh about this?

My eldest, and most difficult child, is also a boy.
Then again, my mother tells her I was her most difficult, so maybe its birth order? Eldest children are the toughies cause they are the ones that push at their parent's buttons most. By the time they are through with Mom and Dad, the subsequent children are a breeze!
(Mind you, every time my oldest gives me a particularily hard time, I call my mom up and thank her (PROFUSELY!) for putting up with me throughout my childhood! She always gets a good laugh out of that. What's nice is that, after she finishes laughing, she tells me that I now give her the most nachas. Now, I'm sure she tells that to my sibs as well, but its nice to hear none-the-less. It gives me hope...something to look forward to in the future! :)

You are so right. I am sure my parents are looking down and laughing. I was their black sheep. I realized long ago that you get as a parent as you dished out as a kid.

I think the oldest has to be tough so that the other kids have it easy. I used to have to have temper tantrums and beg and scream to go out ever at 16, it was a three hour ordeal every time, but my younger sibs would say "mom dad were leaving..." And my parents are like, ok see you soon love ya.

So not fair...

My toughie is my oldest.
My toughie is my second child and first boy. My daughter (my eldest) is a piece of cake compared to him.
