- Go to a store that sells cheap fabric - Walmart is probably good. - Buy 100% cotton material. - Recommended dimensions are approx 4.6 m x 71 cm. In other words, anywhere from 5-6 yards (length) and 20-30 inches (width). - Learn how to tie: 1. Place the Moby™ Wrap across your waist with the logo tag centered at your navel. Posted Image 2. Cross the two sides behind your back and bring over your shoulders, back to front. Posted Image 3. Tuck one end of the Moby™ Wrap under the logo section, top to bottom. Posted Image 4. Tuck the other end under the logo section. Posted Image 5. Cross the end pieces in the front and bring the fabric behind your back. Posted Image 6. You now have the option of tying a knot here. Posted Image 7. If there is enough fabric, bring the wrap back to the front and tie a double knot. Posted Image 8. Spread the fabric over your shoulders and back for a comfortable fit. Posted Image |

I had one. I loved mine. But, if you are looking to get one, the are only good if 1) you put it on at home 2) someone can help you if you are out of the house. The thing is so long that it drags and can get dirty on the floor. In other words, don't plan on putting it on in a parking lot if you want to walk the mall wearing your child. No can do. |

Just make sure that the material is strong enough to support your baby. Also the moby wrap has a bit of a stretch to it. |

I dunno, I never had any problems tying it or getting the baby into it on my own. |

I"m very short, so that is part of it, but it dragged out onto the floor for several feet on either side. But it was fantastic to use around the house. |

Barbie, if the material is too long - cut it. Looking at the pictures, it should not be dragging on the floor. Also, I don't mind putting it on at home - or in a store nursing/restroom. Chutzpah, look at the pictures above to see what a "Moby Wrap" is. It's just a type of infant carrier. ICan, Jersey Knit has that bit of stretch. It will support an infant just fine. |

Thanks, I can see that now, after reading everyonne's responses! At first I thought it was just some kind of ugly fashion statement! |

I don't have mine anymore, no more children and my 2 year old was too big for it last year. I didn't want to to cut it without sewing a new seam, but I didn't want to do that either. |

BTW, if you go to the moby wrap website there is a girl there that does a "fan video". She's my friend Renee from BBC, the June 2006 boards. |

Oh how cool! Heck I didn't need a moby wrap or anything else "official" even though I ended up with one at the end. You can use anything in a pinch - grab a big scarf and sling it over one shoulder criss cross - tie it and plop the baby in...granted it's hard with your first but I'll still whip a big scarf out of my purse in a pinch if I need to carry Asher on a long trek and he's too pooped to go on after a long hike. |

Ahhhh, that brings back some lovely memories for me. I had the "Ultimate Baby Wrap" which is the same exact thing. I never had a problem with it dragging and was a pro at throwing it on. I used it all the time when Dylan first came home from Guatemala. It made for a spectacular bonding experience. I really miss it. |

Your son is from Guatemala? My cousin was adopted from there! He's such a cute kid :D . They can call it whatever they want - the concept is exactly the same. Take fabric, wrap it around and put in baby. The wrap was probably invented in prehistoric times... |
