Happy birthday!

The problem is that once all your kids move out, you'll be begging them to come back and visit you. Ready to be an empty nester?

Ha! I'm struggling with the fact my first child is 6!! Where did the time go? I am also keeping my youngest as a baby. Its backfiring, shes as cheeky as they come, but I'm not having anymore and I'm not ready to let go, lol! Bad mummy!

When mine are 18 I'm not sure what I'll do - oh wait, I'll get out all the pics I took of the naughty things they did as kids and post them on a big billboard at their bday parties!

Happy bday to your daughter! I moved out at 17, so 18 is definately old enough, haha!

Dh and I ate supper alone last night and he remarked that it is a sign of the times. Dd was studying and the boys weren't home. It was a strange feeling not to have kids chattering (or fighting ;) ) at the table.

And I'm also keeping my youngest as a baby. He seems agreeable to this and loves giving hugs....except in public.

I have the opposite situation with my two older teens. They can't wait to be out of the house.
Here's a heartwarming story:
When my oldest dd came home after being away all summer (9 weeks!), she walked in the door, looked around at her loving family and announced, "Yuck, I'm home."
Nice to see you, too, kid.
And my ds, while being a lot of fun to talk to, hasn't hugged me in about a decade. Maybe at his bar mitzvah? I don't remember.

I hope that my son and any other future kiddos that I may have always want to hug their mommy. Hopefully they will never go through that rebellious teen stage.
