Post: no clue. DH will eat at his mother's. I'm guessing I'll have French Toast, since that's what the kids are (hopefully) getting for supper.

I will be serving fish for post fast meal. I have a great recipe for potato knishes that I'll be making for either pre or post. Not sure yet. I usually serve some type of pasta for the pre fast meal. Plus sides and salads.

I finally decided. I am going to put up a veg. chili in the crock pot. It is easy, jam packed with good stuff, and not to filling but filling enough. With it I will serve it over spaghetti and topped with toffuti sour cream and fried onions (for dh). For afterward I will reheat this because I will not be up to cooking. We will all break our fast on birthday cake. We have the tradition to bake Tev's cake all together in the afternoon.

Zun, you should ask a rabbi if you need to fast, Your only 30 days past major surgery and birth.

8 tammuz- 9 av, is 31 days, but most rabbonim will give you a heter even a week or two past that for 9 av. I know my mom had a heter even 6 weeks past for a vaginal delivery.

I didn't even consider it cause my milk B"H is abundant (been drinking my poweraide) and I feel great. I DO have an ongoing heter cause of my blood sugar. I am supposed to check it every hour or more if I don't feel right and if its under certain numbers eat in shiurim. My ob, RE, and PCP have cleared me to fast as long as I am continuously checking my blood sugars and have another adult around. Would a Rav seriously give me a heter? I should call cause I don't want to be doing the wrong thing!

You would totally get a heter. almost 100% sure. For 9 av, a women within 30 days of a vaginal birth (c/s, is an extenuating circumstance) is automaticly exempt. Being 1 day past, with all the other issues known, you would almost certainly have a heter

Please ask a rav before you fast. I know when I had my baby 3 weeks before 9 av, I could not hack fasting.

My ds was born on 4 Tammuz and I wasn't given a point blank heter not to fast at all but told to try and the Rav also said that there's no way I will make it through the day! Definitely worth speaking to your Rav!
