I got it at the kosher butcher, but not sure how to prepare. I'm guessing it's like bacon, which I make at work in a pan, but have no idea if that's how it's actually supposed to be done... no clue. I've never been a bacon person, and this has more nitraites than I ever want in my diet, but figured I'd try it once... any ideas guys?

I use it for BLTs (beef, lettuce, and tomatoes), cut it into scramble eggs hash browns. I am trying to think cause its been years but I used it basically for any recipe calling for bacon.

I know... bacon never appears in any recipe I'd ever look for, but I figured it would be fun with eggs. I'll give it a go.

I would cook it like bacon and crumble for salads. also, I do find recipes calling for bacon so I use it in place. soups- great in potato soup, split pea soup. hrm... what else. If you go to food network's site I bet they have loads of recipes if you search bacon. lol

lol. That's funny... I never thought to do that.... I will try it first as "bacon and eggs" see if there is anything to it. I am a big "anti-deli" person bc of the nitrites in it, so even if I love it, it won't be a regular item on my menu.

Totally understand. I bought it as a special treat when I was preg. with Zu and craved BLTs. Also in college I was able to find it all the time and it was cheaper than deli meat and cheese (CY) to put in a sandwich to bring with me between classes.

That's a good idea. I may try that "BLT" thing as well. First, I have to see if I get a migraine from it, or sneezing fit.
