I never stuffed a turkey with this, but my usual chicken stuffing recipe is to fry lots of onions, maybe some finely chopped celery too. Soak dry challah in very warm water till softened, squeeze out the water and tear into bits. MIx with the onions, add an egg or two and season with salt and pepper. Comes out like a dream.

My mother uses the same recipe, except with matza instead of challah, to stuff chicken on Pesach.

We are having

turkey and gravy
mashed potatoes
roasted new potates
roasted vegetables
green beans almondine
cranberry sauce
pumpkin pie
rolls

Normally, we would have
turkey and gravy
baked sweet potatoes
either stuffing or mashed potatoes (depending on my mood)
green bean casserole
cole slaw
cranberry sauce
either pumpkin pie or cranberry crisp
rolls

We changed up the menu slightly this year because I bought some of the side dishes from a caterer. I don't have the koach to do the whole meal this year with a new baby. On top of that, DH and I have both been sick; DH has been working crazy hours and our normal Thanksgiving guests don't keep kosher, so I have to do all the cooking. I think DH is a little bummed because he loves green bean casserole and he loves my sweet potatoes. I'll probably make them for Shabbos in a few weeks when things have settled down.

Really well! The food was insanely amazing. We had vegan pumpkin bisque soup to start, then salad and vegan dressing made with nayonaise as a base (other yummy ingredients and people were eating the dressing solo!) Then we had a dill brown rice, quinoa, carrot-sweet potato-blueberry kugel, cranberry orange turkey, pumpkin muffins, homemade cranberry relish and challah stuffing. People were amazed that dh and I were able (and willing) to do it all without everyone bringing a dish. Last year, my cousin brought some random food to my house that was blatenly not kosher. This year I sent out an e-mail telling them we are now keeping kosher and we would greatly appreciate drinks and desserts (fruit!). We phrased it in a way to make it look like we were giving them a break, just be a guest, let us do the work. No one was insulted, and things were all kosher, down to the soy creamer I served instead of dairy. We did have a dairy cake on the table that I made (the American Girl one I posted to FB) but we didn't eat it, and nothing was left on the table when I put it out. We just stuck candles in it, sang, and chucked it out. It was a week old and I didn't want to serve something I didn't think was good.

We also celebrated Hallie's birthday with the family. They brought gifts, but she opened them after they left. The most important part of yesterday was the cousins. My best childhood holiday memories are of us goofing off. My brother and SIL came for dessert and brought the kids, and my cousin's kid was here the whole time. Last year my SIL had the kids come here first and then they left for dessert to go to her side, but that was awful. They cried, as there aren't other kids on her side, and they were all having fun here. This year was better. Only a few meltdowns, but the warm fuzzy holiday feelings were there. I just love that.
Good food, good family, and presents. I love that holiday.

Barbie it sounds like you had an awesome Thanksgiving! Good job!!!

We had a fabulous day with my parents, brother, and uncle all gathered around the children and making a fuss over them :) The food was yummy and we were all so thankful for the good news we just received about my dad's health so it was a very positive and delicious day for all.

The only bummer was that about an hour after my daughter went to sleep she woke up and vomited all over her bed. She ate way too much and her little tummy couldn't hold it all in. A quick shower and linen change made everything delightful again and she slept the rest of the night no problem. She's just dandy today so I'm happy she wasn't ill, just stuffed!

good to hear ZC. Sounds awesome Barbie.

We had no guests this year so it was a little weird. I hear the food was great. I couldn't have cause of my Moshe Leib diet. Kids made lots of projects to decorate with.
