Waiting to find out what exactly is coming in my meat order. We don't do a dairy meal cause of Freida being ana. I do do lots of fake dairy though. My plan is to grill all the meat. I am hoping my rib tips and chicken wings come. If so I will bbq them in a homemade BBQ sauce, homemade pareve mac and cheese, a couple of pareve colored swirl cheesecakes, lasagna, grilled veggies- asparagus, zucchini, onion, yellow squash. As well if they have spaghetti squash one of those with melted pareve mozz. cheese on top. onion soup Would love the vatrushkas recipe and see if I could play with it to make it safe. |

the vatrushkas I got the idea from gourmetkosher here is the original receipe http://www.gourmetkoshercooking.com/2010/05/sweet-cream-cheese-and-chocolate-filled-challah-rolls-or-buns/ What i plan to do is to use my regular challah receipe, make little round rolls, make a dent in the middle and put cream cheeze filling there. I'm also thinking of mixing cream cheeze with cottage for the filling. In any case the original receipe is not exacly vatrushka, but a close relative ; ) |

We usually have a dairy meal by my mom, but i am skipping it this year, because of my sons allergies, he does not get that he cannot eat everything, which means that he needs to be kept away and watched like a hawk....I cannot deal with the stress , so were doing meat at home. |

No dairy meals here; that's what happens when you're married to a chossid. We're invited out for both day seudos, so I figure that takes care of the milchig kiddush as well. I'll make a cheesecake for my hostess, I think. Otherwise it'll be for the first night teriyaki salmon maybe chicken soup with noodles osso buco spätzli pareve ice cream Second night: gefilte fish carrot or zucchini soup either roast which has been waiting to get cooked and eaten since last Pesach or goulasch rice compote menus subject to change without notice Change #1: bowtie noodles with cabbage instead of rice Changes #2, 3, 4, 5 and 6: wild mushroom soup instead of chicken soup the first night and fairy steak with peppers and mushrooms the second night. Probably bowtie noodles without the cabbage. Probably chicken soup the second night. No gefilte fish; salmon instead Edited by ebpeuka, May 17 2010, 03:48 PM.

Not cooking! Going to Chabad Wed night from dinner. Eating... salads, ziti, ice cream, cheese cake, etc. Kids can always eat mac n cheese and ice cream, cereal w/ milk, etc. I try and stay away from dairy, but I like almond "milk" which is OU-D, but 100% lactose free, etc. Not sure which ingredient makes it dairy at all... |

Trying to get dh to agree to going out to one of the kids but making some things either way. I am def making something with choc chips, I bought brown and white. I also want to try the tie dye idea with either my very rich no bake cheese cake or my microwave cheesecake from recipezaar. We also must have 2 meat meals so cheesecake and dairy at home will be early and washing for the fleishic meal a little latter. Usually men learn all night, we eat dairy, they go to nap and get up later for a fleishic seuda. DH must have chicken soup at night and ds insists on potato kugel so I make the soup it chunky and a meal in a bowl - lots of veg and kneidlach. The day I will make shnitzel and salads. My milkics will be cheesecake, blintzes (sweet and salty) and Greek salad with feta. We always have the full compliment of Israeli salads with Shabbos and YT meals - chummus, techina, matbucha, eggplant, etc Considering also parve fruit ice for dessert. |

I don't have thge physical stamina right now to patchke with the dairy foods...which saddens me because we love Shavuot food. So I threw the leftover bagels from the bris in the freezer and I'll buy lox & cream cheese (a treat because of its price)and make a cheese pie...and hope that people will eat, enjoy, and forgive this year. (Truth be told, I'm really hoping one of our neighbours will have pity and invite us out!)
