But, what sauce - I only ever made them with tomato sauce?

I found brust deckle, which is my favourite cut (poor man's brisket), so that's our shabbos chanuka treat, to be pot-roasted with root veg, served with various latke varieties (I love Golden brand frozen latkes!), bourekas (trying a brand for the bat mitzva) and some veggies. Dessert will be blintzes (frozen, blueberrie) and maybe donuts, if I'm brave enough to go to the bakery tomorrow - between the snow, the kids, and the predicted line-up, I might not bother.
And, with a parev oven I can make challah!

Thanks everyone!
Snow???

My favorite no-oven meat is the pastrami roast by shefa found at sobeys! It's the only meat all my kids will actually eat and you just boil in a bag!

Realeez - they had been calling for snow today (and nice weather tomorrow). Looks like all we got was a few flakes overnight, and it seems to have fizzled out, so I could have done my shopping today, instead of two supermarkets yesterday. And, we have a good 20+ min walk tomorrow in possible flurries and very cold temps with winds - yuck!
I think that pastrami was on sale this week, but I never knew what to do with it - are the directions on the package?

Marion - you think I could just boil up the meatballs in duck sauce straight from the jar?

Glad I missed hearing about snow... Hate the stuff!

Yeah the directions are on the bag - pretty much put bag in pot with hot water and boil for 2 hours!

Ooh - even I could do that! I finally mastered doing gefilte fish on an electric stove (so much easier to keep a pot simmering consistently on a gas stove!).
I do tend to take snow forecasts with a pinch of salt given the date - everyone who wants a white xmas will keep tuning in to the weather forecast in the hope of hearing they'll have their favourite picture-book scenery. And those hoping to escape the city want the weather to be conducive to travel.
I think the news outlets word their reports carefully to appeal to both groups!

I realized that I didn't go in the car yesterday which would be when I get my 680news fix lol but they art end to exaggerate! The weather network is the most accurate esp the hourly forecast!

We get both - I check the email from Weather Network on the computer when I get up, then try to catch the 680 report while making lunches. Then, I figure out what to tell the kids to wear!
Anyway, we have a few flakes now, which is making the kids happy, but isn't enough to stop me from running errands (but is enough to prevent me from trying to install the new car seat in the van - again!).

Yeah - here! Cars parked in driveways are covered, but a thin layer. You wouldn't guess it by how little is falling, though.
