I'm obsessed with the idea of making cake pops. They are just too cute for words. If you've ever made them, do you have any tips (or pictures!) to share? I'd love to hear what people are doing with them. Bakerella (google it) has the most amazing cake pops - she's credited as being the inventor of the cake pop.

Oops...kiddo wants to eat lunch...so post cut short, but please, post if you have anything to add to the topic. Thanks!

well, i looked into it, but i feel like it is way too much work! I do cake balls instead. And since candy melts by wilton are dairy and the hemishe brand is not available where i am, it just doesn't make sense to bother... If you have a candy thermomether, you can cover them in tempered chocolate.

I just melt plain old chocolate (or pareve white chocolate) chips. Works just as well as the Candy Melts by Wilton/Mercken. Bah, you're reminding me I was supposed to make a mold this morning!

My cake pops actually looked really nice - I just melted regular chocolate chips and put sprinkles on top. My vanilla cake pops were a flop, but realeez's chocolate cake recipe worked perfectly. I covered it with melted white chocolate chips that were thinned with a bit of shortening.
