Being evil feels good, doesn't it?

Okay, for Christmas, my aunt is going out to buy us each a DS game (I feel sorry for her. Five games... o.o Lol.). I've been frenzied trying to pick out something worthwhile to play (My own parents don't just go out and get us a game so easily, so I want to make it a wise choice.).

So... I developed a long list of games I really want. I had to cut and trim it down to two reasonable choices: Pokemon Ranger and Pokemon Emerald.
I've been really wanting Emerald for a long time, but when Ranger appeared into mind... eh...

So... after some thinking, I went with Pokemon Ranger. On the commercials and advertisements, it sounded really good. Ranger it was.
But... I have another problem.

Just a few moments ago, I went to check on Serebii for info about Pokemon Ranger.
Yes, I'm not up-to-date, so scream at me now.
The knowledge of two Pokemon Rangers finally came to me.

One's Pokemon Ranger: Shadows of Almia.
The other was just Pokemon Ranger.

One purpose of of this topic is,
What's the difference(despite of plots),
and the other is,
which one ish more preferred.

At first look, I'd pick the newest version...
But I tend to like older versions of things,
so I'm gonna try to get some comments and suggestions from this board. ^^;

Thanks y'all. ^^

Shame on you for not knowing there were two but I have not played the Ranger games and well Emerald is pretty much better than Ruby and Sapphire and you can use it to get pokemon into diamond and pearl

Okay?
You pick one yet Shimmy, a well known difference of the two is the new one has more pokemon. I sorta forgot about this thread untill I had to make a list of what I want, games and Im missing one (Help? I was thinking of the old mystery dungeon but.... I can get from either ps2 or ds)

I would go with the newer version. I haven't played it but i've played the first one. The first one is ok but not great. In the new one you get to choose your starter 'Starly, munchlax and pachirisu' (I think?)
Where as the first one you get given minum or plusle (Depends on the gender)

Well basicly i'm saying get the second one, but that's my opinion.

I can halp you!

Ranger #2 was easy! It took about 4 days to finish it, with a walkthrough ( at least... for me) You have to go on several quests and missions to get most of the partner pokemon, but the first three are...

Spoiler: click to toggle

You pick the pokemon you want, only one can be chosen until you get a quest saying you need to rescue a pokemon or something...

Thats about all I can recall for now....

PS: Dim Sun sounds too weird for a team name XD
