Yes, approach is important if one wishes to persuade, and the personality of the the persuader has to click with the persuadee. It is interesting, because I can see what you mean with Dawkins, but I didn't see it with that other geezer the other day. It is an interesting program. It explores may areas, which includes the paradox of modern thinking and the dangers lurking in the lack of interest in science (cause it is hard) and the wonder of sudo-science (easier to do). I don't have any issue with people like Dawkins; mainly because, in me, he is 'preaching to the converted'.

Dawkins rankles me so I find it very hard to listen to him. Not seen the show yet but looking forward to it. I am a total sceptic inasmuch as I think there is nothing after we die and all this paranormal stuff is crap...but...I will keep a teeny part of me open to being proved wrong.

Posts: 6,024 Group: Members Member #154 Joined: April 11, 2010	Chris French is a lovely guy..I once emailed him to thank him for his input in exposing Derek Ogilvy and he sent a lovely reply back to me. Matthew Smith is a genuine guy who doesn't need arrogance to win the day. I've not taken note really of Richard Wiseman yet, I'll have to take a look at him. I find James Randi quite arrogant sometimes like Dawkins but James Randi isn't as bad, there is no need whatsoever for people to put themselves on the moral highground. For me, people stop listening when you do that. I'd like to hear how the programme went Cam as I didn't watch it
