Member Posts: 689 Group: Members Member #224 Joined: May 20, 2011	My lap top is most uncomfortable on my knees as it feels as though it is going to set on fire any minute, even though I have got it on a cooling pad I have been told it is not worth buying a new battery so is it time to buy a new Laptop? My knees have not felt that hot for years! azure

It could be the fan intake that is blocked with fluff. Peer into the fan intake to see if you can see a blockage. A battery is a lot cheaper then a new laptop. If you are happy with the performance of the PC then a new battery could be the better bet, if indeed it is the battery.

Make: HPG62 NotebookWni 7 Outlook 10 After switching on ,within a minute it heats up and gets progressivly hotter wih use. It s not in consant use as I also have a PC notmany programmed on and plenty of free space. Will be back this evening azure S-un

Spec HP G62 Win7 Outlook 10 Two years old Not used more than one hour daily There does not appear to be any dust in the vents I will try removing the battery to see the results azure S-un

You have to be careful, I've travelled that road.... :lol:
