Ive just been told by the daughter, "Dad thats a Union flag, not a England flag". Hmmm, they are flying it across the road, so I though I would snap it and post it. Hmm, still come on England....

Tell them they're flying the flag upside down. The thin white stripe nearest the flagpole should be at the bottom, with the thicker stripe on top.

Anyone watch the match last night? A fast paced one I thought. And very good to watch. Well done England!

Yep. Upside down flag. Never mind - it's the spirit of the thing that counts. :D
At the moment I'm thinking ...

After his performance for England last night, Wayne Rooney has been called in to take a test for Performing Enhancing Rugs...

In my view, Rooney had no place in the starting line up and his performance last night just proved me right. He managed to get himself on the end of a sweet little England build up to score that goal. It was by no means down to him. On the other hand he missed a good chance earlier which might have put the Ukraine's near miss (or was it) out of consideration.

As to the hair ... that alone should have kept him off the pitch. The man obviously has no pride. :D

I watched the match last night. Good result. Let us hope we can beat Italy on Sunday.

There's a lot of discussion about the Ulkrane none goal. It looked different to me each time they did a replay. Should it have been allowed, do you think? Glad it wasn't

No. Not under the current system. Official's decisions are part of the game. Besides, it looked like an off side to me - if you catch a replay, look at Milevskiy. :D
However, I would like Hawk Eye or something similar to be used at games like that.

Ah, you jogged my memory about it being off side.

I've not heard of Hawk Eye - but it reminds me of the BBC soap Mash

There's a little known fact about me ... I'm a qualified ref. No, really - honest. I ran our school football team for years. I'd have disallowed it - based on the off side. :D

Brilliant. I'm very impressed, Les. I should know myself as I've seen enough football matches over the years, but afraid I don't. Very good - we have our own KF ref - in more ways than one

although I've had my fair share of arguments with refs when I played ( at a very low level )

I only ever got one of those .... it was a £12 fine in my day!

( £6 for a yellow ! )

I often left the pitch £6 poorer
