And less than 8 hours later (7 hours, 21 minutes, to be exact), its over. Less time than I spent on Katamari. And the dialog is still incredibly stupid along with weird voice acting. The ending was interesting, to say the least. And prince pixel is a total moron. The credits are the coolest non interactive credits ever. I guess that's it. Its pretty short, so I'm not sure if its really worth the $30 except you can draw ANYTHING, which rocks. But I wouldn't say wait for it used as you'll probably never find it. 6.8/10 (yes, it dropped .2 points, due to the shortness) |

The concept of this really appealed to me--I mean, come on, what's not to love? A game where you can draw more or less anything, and have it incorporated into gameplay? Gimme, gimme! Sounds like they really dropped the ball on making the rest of the game fun and exciting, though--and the fact that it's so short is another stroke against it. I very much doubt I'll buy this. |

you could always rent it. i got the game, i haven't beat it yet, i like to take my time with games, i haven't drawn any of my own creations yet. sure, there are aspects in which not to love but I still think it's a great game, possibly not worth 30 but i would say get it in the long run. |

I might get it if I run through everything else on my list (somewhat unlikely, given my budget!) Action fighting games aren't generally my thing. There has to be something really spectacular about them for me to even consider buying them. The Star Ocean and Tales series are about as close as I usually get to action games (and I doubt I'll be buying any more Star Oceans, after "Till the End of Time"). I'm thinking about Jade Cocoon 2, instead, at the moment. It doesn't have the depth of customization you'd get from drawing your own monsters, obviously, but it looks like it has some lovely environments, and reasonably involving gameplay. I enjoyed the first Jade Cocoon, so the second one's probably a safe bet. |

Well, by action game, I just mean anything where you're running around fighting stuff by mashing buttons. I prefer strategy-based fighting mechanisms, myself (because I'm really bad at anything involving manual dexterity). |

ah, i see. i hate fighters cause the basically boil down to being button mashers. no real interest in them. gk isn't just about button mashing though, there is strategy involved in it....a game you may like, sphinx and the cursed mummy, i dug it, i thought it was really neat. |

That DOES look pretty fun, although it might still be a bit skill-heavy for me (yeah, I know--how clumsy can I BE?) The ideal type of game for me is, for example, Fallout (PC) or Dragon Quarter (PS2), where battles are not played out in real-time, and you budget your movements and attacks carefully in order to do maximum damage. (I mention these particular games, rather than Final Fantasy and its zillion clones, because I find the FF battle system a bit too simple, especially from FFVI onwards.) I also like games like Warcraft and Civilization, where it's more about tactics and behind-the-scenes manoeuvering than actual fighting. I may try branching out into games like GK and Sphinx, though. I've avoided them for quite a long time, but playing Katamari has really opened my mind to games that involve skill. Pre-Katamari, I'd never even have bought something like Flipnic--if I wanted a pinball fix, I'd just play the shareware version of Epic Pinball for a while. |

katamario can definitely open your mind to other games.... i suck at platformers and rpgs but sphinx was one i loved and i've actually had it since it came out, i even got the guide book cause i knew i was gonna have a hard time doing it by myself. ![]() but as far as pinball goes, flipnic rules, lol |

Socrates... You might also enjoy... /begin plug Phantom Brave /end plug for the ps2... Its more of a tactics/strategy rpg, but far more advanced than anything else on the market... there's no grid here, either... Its definetly worth the 15-20 bux you'll spend on it. |

Phantom Brave, eh? I've been thinking about getting that one. I'll definitely have to keep an eye out for a bargain copy. |
