I've written a guide for GameFAQs myself, and so has Vix...and chances are that more guide-authors will come to this board with time. Soooo, this thread is just to talk about our guides, our writing styles...anything that goes into making our guide. Or we could discuss guide-writing in general. You don't have to have written a guide to post here. In fact, I implore anyone curious about the experience of guide-writing, and especially anyone who's considering writing a guide, to post their questions and/or comments! Of course, I think it would only be appropriate to list what guides we've made. I, for one, have authored a guide to The Twisted Tales of Spike McFang on the SNES, and while this may or may not apply to other authors who post here, feel free to PM me with questions!

But I digress. Earlier today I visited Cheat Code Central to see if they had plagiarized my guide. I didn't see any SNES section, but maybe I was just looking in the wrong places. Is there one?

Run you clever boy and remember...

one thing i don't care for about gamefaqs guides is the 80 character limit but I understand why it's there, it's just annoying is all.

I have three things up on gamefaqs: A full KD faq, a Rare Item faq, and an SSX 3 checklist. I have also contributed to the master faq for SSX3.

I've tried to submit a checklist for gtavc and burnout 3 but gamefaqs claims they don't allow checklists....ahem....:lol

I say, if you really like a game and think you can write a faq, give it a go, cause it really opens you up to meeting other gamers.

I have actually written quite a few reviews for games over at collegeboredom.com
I've written 7 or so... That's well over half of their reviews tho... Kd was one of them, tho...
I've never really attempted to write a guide or faq, tho... Maybe I should...

The 80 character limit isn't actually a limit. If you have charts that need to be a little wider, they're still accepted - I've done it for my Pokemon Contest FAQ.
