I trade in often... I'll buy a game, and beat it in a few days if it has little to no replay value I'll trade it in. I've found that the best trade you'll get is $15 less than the price you paid for it. Every once in a while, I've managed to get better than that (I got $6 less than what I paid for star ocean:tteot), but that's rare... Anyone else trade games in? |

i don't pay a pretty penny for games only to get not even half back in trade-in-value...totally not worth it to trade in games. I'm a gamer, I prefer to actually have a gaming collection, lol |

I used to trade in games, back when EB Games (well, Electronics Boutique) had a deal of "trade in 2 games, get a game free". That was a seriously good trade, especially if I had two complete duds that I got for less than 10 dollars at the same store.
Though I certainly regret selling off some of the games I did. However, I ended up losing my entire going-on-50 PSX game collection in a move a few years back, so I guess it's actually helpful that some of them might still be in circulation at a game store now. Alternately, I do sometimes trade games 1 for 1 with friends (usually temporary) (the trade, not the friends), which is real real cool. |

I don't trade in, but I do buy a lot of used games. I can get between 3 and 5 used games in good condition for the price of one brand new one, so it's a no-brainer. Sometimes, there's no manual, but almost all games have in-game instructions, and those that don't have Internet documentation on sites like gamefaqs.com. |

HA!!! Trade-in my ass!! Why do you think I spend $6,000+ on games? Only to sell them for not even HALF of that? No, I don't think so!! There was only ONE INSTANCE where I traded in 10 of my Genesis games, for a brand new Sega CD model 2 (Your talkin' 1992 EB special right here! Trade in 10 Genesis, SNES, or NES games and get a free Sega CD.) It was hard for me to do it, but it was worth it...only ment MORE GAMES FOR ME!!! MUAHAHA!! I DO plan on re-purchesing those 10 games I traded in, in the same exact condition they were in when I traded them in. (1, 2, 3, 4 "in" in 1 sentince....:heh) Perfect conditioned box, game, and manual. Not TOO hard to find on eBay, though sometimes you gotta wait awhile before gettin' your hands on such an item (I was able to get my hands on a perfect conditioned Cyberball, game, case, manual for $1 + S&H!!). |

i do buy a lot of used games as long as they have the box and instruction book but I won't sell games back.... I bought a game once fore 15 bucks, i ended up hating it, sold it back, got a whopping 3 bucks for it and the next day i went to the store and it was being sold for 15 again, it's toooooo much of a rip-off |

If I can get a decent deal I'll trade in.. I mean, I won't trade a game I payed 20 for to get 3 dollars... I usually go for at least half, unless I just don't have the cash and it was a sucky gameboy game worth like 3 bux in trade in anyways. I won't trade a game unless it has no replay value and either I've beat it, or in the case of narc, it can't be beat. Like recently, I bought Lumines for the psp used for 35, and got 22 out of it, and I bought flatout*cough* sucks *cough* for 40 and got 28 out of it. And I bought Destroy All Humans (also very disappointing) for 40 used and got 30 out of it 3 days later after I beat it. I figure if I beat a game fast enough, I can get some credit if it sucked. I rotate game stock faster than eb does. |

*sigh* There's a place called The "Rental Store" why can't you RENT games?? I mean 5 day rentals for $3 each is CHEAP!! Why spend WAY more money actually BUYING them, and then RETURNING them for much less?? This is why GameFly is in business, so you can rent games, and try them out! If you actually LIKE a game, you can buy the case+manual that go with that game! |

Well, I don't have a credit card, and there are only 2 rental places around here.. Blockbuster is one and it requires a credit card, the the other is $5 for 3 days, and the games are 99% of the time scratched to the point of unplayableness or just crappy older games that nobody wants. Otherwise, I would. |
