Good DS Games?; which DS games are worth checking out?

My games:

Nintendogs: They're cute but it gets boring quickly. Same thing over and over.

Trauma Center: This game is really fun. The story is weird as hell, but it adds to the charm of the game. Some levels are difficult to master, but you get a sense of accomplishment when you play so it works. I highly recommend it to anyone that has a DS.

Zookeeper: Don't waste your time or money, unless you have a friend that will buy it with you and you can play with in the 2 player mode. I was a big fan of the flash game, and I almost bought the DS back when it was released just for this game. It is way too easy with the stylus, and the story mode is weak. I thought they were going to expand on the flash game, but I ended up just paying for something I could have played for free.

Kirby Canvas: This one is a very pretty game. I haven't completed it, and I do get bored after playing it for a bit, but it isn't bad or anything. There is a lot to do in it at least, so you get your money's worth for the game. By "a lot" I mean, more than there is to do in say, Nintendogs.

Meteos: This is the best game I've found for the DS. It is super addicting, and really fun. It has nice music, graphics, and a GREAT multiplayer mode. I have 2 friends that have this game, so it is really worth it. It is a great game for people that like unlocking things, or collecting things. You need to collect elements during game play to unlock new planets that you can play. I couldn't stop until I had them all (like those damn Pokemon).

Castlevania and Polaris come highly recommended to me as well, but I've only watched them being played, haven't tried them yet myself.

I'm thinking of buying that Ace Attorney game, but I don't know if I'll love it or hate it so I'm waiting.

So any suggestions?

The two games I would most recommend are Meteos (which you already own) and Castlevania DOS, easily one of the best games in the series, maybe even the best. Wario Ware Touched is also a lot of fun, if you're a fan of the series (I'm a total Wario Ware addict). I've heard very good things about Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, but have not tried it yet myself. If you like rhythm games, you may also look into the import Ossu! Tatakae! Ouendan.

Sorry for the double post, but I think this is worth bumping to mention that Mario Kart DS will be released (in the US) in 10 days. That game will probably be the greatest system seller yet.

I'll tell you this right now.

If Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney was an anime, I'd BUY the box set as soon as it hit the shelves. That game is SO entertaining. The characters are just SOOOO well-written. I was sitting next to a friend who was playing it, since she was playing the 2nd-to-last level, and it was pretty hard, but I watch things like Law&Order and Detective Conan, so I know how to do things like a good detective, like deductive reasoning. :-P

It gets pretty hard finding holes in the witnesses' testimony.

And Ossu! Tatakae! Ouendan has an AWESOME soundtrack. Pure J-Pop with Morning Masume, Hitomi Yaida, L'arc~en~Ciel, and others. Awesomeness

I don't own a DS, but I looked into Nintendo Power real quickly and the only other game that got a high rating besides the ones you guys already mentioned was Advance Wars: Dual Strike so you could maybe check that one out...

I totally forgot I have Warioware, that one is really fun as well.

Thank you so much for all the great suggestions!

I've been thinking about some of the ones you mentioned, and I think I might have to try them out now that Kingdom Hearts II won't be out until next year.

I'm really excited about Mario Kart DS, I'll probably get it the day it is released since my Double Dash got scratched and won't play anymore.

I am pretty bummed Animal Crossing: Wild World isn't coming out until December. Just in time for Finals :( BAH! I don't want to have to wait until Winter Break to try it out, but I know once I turn it on I'm gonna be addicted for a while.

I want to get Bust a Move DS, I think it comes out next week, but I'm gonna wait and get it used.

I also heard that a Rainbow Islands DS game will be coming out. Does anyone know if this is going to be like the Rainbow Islands that was on the NES with the Bubble Bobble guys?

<3 Rainbow Islands <3
I posted about it in the old games topic... It's part of Taito Treasures.
And that could possibly be THE selling point of a DS for me.
Former Nintendo Fanboy-turned Sony fanboy might turn back to nintendo, depending on rainbow islands and FFIII
But not too many other DS games even remotely interest me, save meteos, trauma center, trace memory, mr driller, and maybe Animal Crossing, but I would inevitebly get bored with it.
here's what I was going to comment on engadget, but I got a bad url error... People were saying that all the good PSP games were just knockoffs of ps2 titles, and that they all sucked.

Your comments: Meh, I bought a PSP because back in june there were 0 good DS games, and lumines was out on PSP. By the way, lumines is a good game not on the ps2. So is frantix. And death jr. And coded arms.
Currently on the ds there are 2 noteworthy games. Trace Memory and Trauma Center.
*ducks as fanboys throw stuff*
Honestly, how can you make Nintendogs the ds selling point? My original GameBoy has Tamagatchi already, and I don't play it. Why would I want yet another [overglorified] virtual pet?
Advanced Wars dual strike? Meh, don't get me started. I have 2 on my GBA that I never beat.
Mario Kart? Sorry, I have it on my N64, and it's collecting dust, like the DS version would.
Honestly, quite a few handheld games are knockoffs of console or previous handheld games.
It's kinda how the gaming industry works.
