Howzit and what de haps? I got my own copy in the mail last Friday. Like me to help fill in gaps in the list?

Stage 1 5cm->15cm in 4min (BGM:Katamari on the Rocks)

Stage 2 20cm->1m50cm in 6min (BGM:Roll Me In)

Stage 3 1m50cm->10m in 5min (BGM:Que Sera Sera)
Cousins: The one on the boat is Odeon, not Odeko
Present: Actually hanging from a steel beam on the cliff with the Tarzans-you can just climb the cliff to reach it

Stage 4 (BGM: Kuru Kuru Rock)

Stage 5 10m->70m in 5min (BGM:The Moon and the Prince)
Present: Usually looks like a Peter Pan-ish outfit (but on Fujio it looks like samurai armor)

Stage 6 5cm->20cm in 5min->1m50cm in 6min(winter) (BGM:Katamari Holiday[1], Gin and Tonic and Red Red Roses[2])
Present: Headphones-on a bear's back in town(use ladder)

Sweets stage 5min (BGM: Lonely Rolling Star)
Present: Location is in the room with the fruits and the grandma; there's a cone-shaped pile of bananas, with the present hovering above them

Crane stage 3000 yrs of age in 5min (BGM: Cherry Tree Times)
Cousins: Kenta-name of the centaur-looking rookie
Fujio-sitting on a storage shed near the soccer game.

More to come...

Thanks for the crane stage info! And all the extra locations and junk... One thing that gets me is you'll roll up cousins without realizing it... Like I have no idea where I found jungle :P
I originally had all the sizes and times, but took them out for whatever reason...
Also, about the timing... I think the timing is different this time around... In wlk/kd the timer goes from 2MIN to 59SEC but in MMK, the timer goes 2MIN->1MIN->59sec. So I think there's a whole extra minute in the time... I'll bust out the stopwatch later when I take a break from ssx3 tonight.

Mind if I use some of this for the faq I'm compiling? You'll get credit, of course.
Oh, and do you know what the final score is when he's judging you? It looks like a percentage, but I'm not sure what it would be...
Thanks!

Do you mean the score that shows up with your max size before the 2D stage?

I think it's the total number of items you've picked up. Not the number of item types, I think it counts up each and every time you've picked up an item. You can sure check it for yourself.

Oops, I think you mean the number from 1-100 that appears below your size and other score after each normal level. I don't know. I think it might determine whether you win an Eternal level or not, but I am not sure.

I'll add a little thing about the Eternal levels:

====

Using the Eternal levels:

You have to unlock the Eternal levels before you can play them. I am guessing that every regular level has an Eternal mode (I haven't seen them for themed levels yet).

When you enter a stage, you know that you have unlocked the Eternal level if after choosing to enter the stage the King asks you another question. Choose the bottom choice if you want to play the level normally, or choose the top choice if you want the Eternal version.

Once you are done with the level pause the game, then press Square, then choose the left option and press Circle. This way you won't get any kind of a results screen, but the new items you have collected will be added to the item list. If there is a way to get a results screen/make an island using Eternal I don't know it yet, but that doesn't mean there isn't a way.

maybe a silly question but it really beats me...
when playing We Love Katamari, you can see if you got all presents/cousins when speaking to the person before actually entering the stage.
is there anything alike this on Me and My Katamari? Because I've got a few presents and something around 24 cousins.
how can I know who's missing?

Well, I think the chameleon requests are random.
also, the number I was asking about was the 1-100 after a level.. ElPistolerro, any way you can get that translated? Its not in my eng<->japanese dictionary...
Also... I took pictures using the camera in game of most of the new cousins (missing one) and exported them to .bmp... I just haven't uploaded them yet.

Aaron, certainly you can use the information that I post. Just be sure to acknowledge it.

Some more:

Gorilla stage-The katamari won't be big enough when the King speaks after the 15m size-up. 25-or-so would be better. (BGM-DISCO(star)PRINCE)
Present:Thunder God Drums-on the back of a whale in the harbor
Cousins:Miki-riding the funicular aka ropeway gondola
Jungle-near the Christmas trees

Stage 8 1m50cm->10m(BGM: Sunbaked Savanna)->70m
Present:Lil' Ghost-4m area, on a ledge near the cliff where the Grandpa mask was in stage 3, but this time you have to roll off the top of it
Cousin:Kinoko-on the big hill with all the trees (1.5m area)
Banban (the donut)Potato City, in the wrestling ring

Stage 9 10m->70m(BGM: Angel Rain)->500m(BGM:Angel Gifts)
Presents:Magic Mask(changes depending on who wears it, same as queen's mask if using the Prince)-10m area, on top of the train trestle
KOAC Mask-70-500m area, hovering near the middle of the map
Cousins:Paula(new flower-faced one)-second area, next to the COLOSSAL penguin
Nik-riding a tornado

Stage 10 5cm->20cm(BGM: Katamari Mambo)->1m50cm->10m
Cousin:Huey-riding an angel in the girl's bedroom.

You know, I just realized that my present for stage 6 is the same as yours for stage 13. Apparently the map itself is the key to many of these, which is why I got two Royal Presents in Stage 9...

Yeah, some of the maps repeat in later stages, and any cousins or presents that you missed can (usually) be caught in the same place later on. The object placement is also mostly the same, except for a few things, but there are often objects that are too big to roll up unless you're in a stage that doesn't warp you out after the target is reached (the drunks in Sakura Town[Stage 2], for instance.)

One more before I go home for the day, for the dreaded Chameleon stage...

Requests go by category(usually around five objects in the specified category per batch.) They include Fuurutsu(fruit), Supotsu(sports), Omatsuri(festival), celebration, Fuki(weapons), and children, but many categories aren't represented.

You get 8 minutes to complete as many sets as you can. I'm not sure how many are needed to pass, but I got 21 sets on the first try. (BGM-You are smart :mad )

Present:I'm not sure where it is (i.e. I found it without realizing it), but it's like the Magic Mask in that it changes depending on the wearer, except it's a hat. Let's call it Magic Hat for now.

Cousin:Nai Nai(new, shaped like a yellow box with the face on the inside of the lid) Past the 80cm barrier, in the square with the mermaid and the masked wrestler, there's a shrine with a big box in front of it. The rookie is randomly tossed out of this box.

I don't think there's any way to see what cousins and presents you've got from the map screen. Too bad.

This is a really, really bad spoiler, but I'll say it in case Aaron wants to use it in his FAQ:
<<< Approximate sizes to roll up: Queen 2970m, King 3430m, and Grandpa 4040m >>> end bad spoiler

I noticed something in the chamelion stage once I was big enough to pick up people. From that point on, each and every time the King gave me a request I could fill it by picking up children. I mean for the whole rest of the stage - I wound up filling like 26 requests that way. Maybe it was just random luck, but considering how many children there are in the level there might be something to that.

I am 99% sure that the cousins and presents you can get are based not on the stage but on the area of the map you're in. In fact, one of the ways of listing the items lists them by "region" as I am calling it in my 'impressions' thread, and lists three regions each in five size groups (the 5cm-20cm regions, the 20cm-1m50cm regions, 1m50cm-10m, 10m-70m and 70m-500m), then one with all the biggest stuff, then five more lists one for each themed level. Each and every "region" has one present and two cousins, or 1 present & three cousins if it starts at 70m.

This is something we can all watch for until we see if I am wrong. I think that the 1-100 final score corresponds somehow to the 5-7 digit score, meaning that the higher one score is, the higher the other one will be. IF I am right then there is no point at all in having both on the Hall of Fame, but I don't know if I'm right. We can prove me wrong if anytime one of us makes a new island, the new one has a higher second score than old one but a lower first score, or vice versa. Something maybe to watch for.

Also, I am almost certain that any "second score" over 80 means that you earn the Eternal mode for that stage.

I had one.. I forget the actual values, but on my second roll I had a bigger katamari, but lower points and a higher final score.... I'm thinking the final number may be size related, as the points are based on what items you roll up...
I'll do a couple roll throughs after work (if I can drag myself away from mercenaries :D) and post again to possibly confirm that.

Looks like I was wrong about that.

edit: I had one where my new katamari was fractionally smaller than the old, but the new score was 84 while the old score was 76. I think we're at square one.

Stage 11 updates!

Animal: actually a cheetah, as shown by its request for "speedy" things
20cm->1m50cm(BGM-Baby Universe)->10m->70m
Present:Train-on top of a car in 20cm area (near where Kaede Town's bear present was)
Cousins:Shy-in the swimming pool(she's kinda small and blends in with the background, so be careful)
Kuro-onstage at the V-Ranger show

And one last tidbit on the Gorilla stage:

Apparently, the highest grade is Fuaiia! (Fire!), which is obtained at around 55-60m.

Each item has its own specific point value... You can see on the pause screen how many points you have...
I'm checking on the other score

Edit:
To confirm what slo_bro said...
The final score has nothing to do with size... It seems to be more directly rated to your points score... Here's my level 1 runs (I limited myself to _just_ beating it 3 times)

Stage 1 run 1
48411points
16cm
23

Stage 1 run 2
16293 points
15cm6mm
5

Stage 1 run 3
25130points
16cm5mm
13

(My saved run is:
106143points
24cm1mm
94)

Next few stages...

Stage 12 1m50cm(BGM:Everlasting Love)<Melon Town>->10m->70m->500m(BGM:Katamari on the Swing)<Rice Continent>

NOTE: All thngs are for the Rice Continent.
Present:Wings-on an island next to the Japanese castle (can't miss it)
Cousins:Nutsuo-on a tiny island surrounded by whirlpools
Peso-next to the Ferris wheel
Macho-on top of the Oni Isle

Stage 13: I have nothing to add here; at this point I only have 70m+ areas left in the normal stages

Camel stage: 5min to roll up expensive things buried in the sand (slow start)
Cousins:Johnson-riding a camel; one of the more difficult ones to roll up
L'amour-carried around by the eagle; much easier.

At this point, we're basically missing the cousins and presents for the Corn Continent and the World stage, with Odeko, Marny, Lalala, Twinkle, Shy, Drooby(visible in Rice Continent but unreachable, so final stage, perhaps?), and four rookies unaccounted for. Is the thing with the pixie hat one of them?

The cousins you can see that are too big to get in 70-500m areas are the ones you can get in the World stage 70-1500m - a purple one (sorry I'm not good with the cousins' names), Drooby, and the human-looking one in an elf hat. Purple: riding under a dragon. Drooby: raises out of the water on an island. Elf guy: running back and forth on a rainbow. I think you can only get one of those three (plus cousins from the 70-500 stage) each time you're in the 70-1500 stage; which one you can get is based on time of day.

Odeko is the tall purple one, and Pokkeru/Pockle the humanoid one with the pixie hat. To get each one, you do have to start in a certain 70-500m area (Barley Continent for Pockle, Rice Continent for Drooby, Corn Continent for Odeko.)

I saw your present list on another topic, so I won't bother mentioning the locations of the Bandage and the Royal Cape.

Cousins on the Corn Continent:
Marny-fighting the two-headed monster
Hatsu(new, blue with a round, flat head, face on top)-repeatedly crosses the long bridge

I'm planning on making another thread showing just the cousin locations. All we have left are Lalala, Twinkle, Myuu(new, black and covered with stars, no face), and some other new guy. One has to be in the 75cm-1m50cm area of Sakura Town, one in the same area of Kaede Town, and one more for the Corn Continent, since I've only been there once so far. Where would the fourth one be?

Don't worry, Aaron and Slo, I'll mark the ones you first posted.

Lalala - Corn Continent

By the way, as you can see I did a poor job in some respects on my present list. If you want to help give the presents better names, or define the regions better than I did, or do anything else to help out that list, I would appreciate it a lot.

edit: And when I made the presents list I didn't check to see which ones other people had already posted. By all means don't give me credit for the ones I didn't get to first. Guess it would still be a lot of work to put together a comprehensive list of presents with good-sounding names for them, proper names for their regions, and credit for the people who found them.

not important, but interesting to me ...

You know the item list? Listed where the Prince rides a roller coaster, and can look at seemingly random groups of objects?

Someone at GameFAQs told me that this list is done alphabetically in Japanese. I had no idea.
