Run you clever boy and remember...

Since I don't have the game, and more than likely won't(:crybaby), I'm gonna need some help setting this up.

Aaron made up a level list but I need more detail from those that have the game. Like what the level is made up of, size? time? money? weight? etc...

I need details! :)

Tutorial, 1-16 are _basically_ based on size, points and some other score (nyeko?) (no meteor/speed type things yet, but there is a time on it)...
2D (all 3 stages) are size only.
Ant:
# of food items and size scores

Monkey: size and then a firefly type rating (can't read japanese)

Chameleon: size and number of requests from the king you complete

Camel: yen

(Non paper) crane: based on living objects, each has a point value, the opposite of camel stage. Scores with total points and size.

I hope I can help later on when I get the game.. My sister speaks a little japanese, so she might be able to translate some of the requests.

I know I'm not adding very much; Aaron already gave all this information.

Mouse - Tutorial - XXcmXmm

Turtle - Stage 1 - XXcmXmm, Score (5 to 7 digit number)
Bird - Stage 2 - XmXXcmXmm, Score
Yellow Bug - Stage 3 - XXmXXcmXmm, Score
Fly - Stage 4 - XXXmXXcmXmm, Score
Red Bug - Stage 5 - XXXmXXcmXmm, Score
Octopus - Stage 6 - XmXXcmXmm, Score
Cat - Stage 7 - XXmXXcmXmm, Score
Crab - Stage 8 - XXXmXXcmXmm, Score
Peacock - Stage 9 - XXXmXXcmXmm, Score
Panda - Stage 10 - XXmXXcmXmm, Score
Tiger (or Jaguar) - Stage 11 - XXXmXXcmXmm, Score
Dolphin - Stage 12 - XXXmXXcmXmm, Score
Polar Bear - Stage 13 - XXXmXXcmXmm, Score
2 Whales - Stage 14 - XXXmXXcmXmm, Score
Elephant - Stage 15 - XXXmXXcmXmm, Score
King Statue - Stage 16 - XXXXmXXcmXmm, Score

If you want to you could also use a second "score", which is a number from 1 to 100, for each of these 16 levels. To see this "score" saved you have to go in the hot-air balloon and check out the island you made. We don't know what this "score" is yet.

You could also use the time to complete the objective, except that as far as I can tell this info is not saved. I hope I'm wrong; I hope it is saved.

Ant - # Sweets, (Xm?)XXcmXmm
Monkey - Rating (like Dazzling), (X?)XXmXXcmXmm
Chamelion - # Sets of Items, XmXXcmXmm
Crane - # (years? Thank ElPistolerro for this info), (X?)XmXXcmXmm
Camel - # yen, XmXXcmXmm

If you wanted to you could include record categorie(s) from the scoreboard thingy you can look at on the island. The first category on the island's scoreboard is for the largest your katamari has ever gotten, which would just wind up meaning your biggest size on the biggest stage using Eternal mode. The second one MIGHT be the largest total number of items collected from an entire stage; the third one MIGHT be most items collected from one region of one stage. The rest of them (the other 46!) seem to involve specific item categories, but I have no idea what they mean.

If you want to keep track of lots of records you could even use all the categories from the whole thing. But as far as I know none of us know what they mean. They are arranged in four columns on 13 pages, so you could call them something like Page 1 Column 1 (max size), Page 1 Column 3&4 (maybe total number of items from a stage and from a region of a stage), Page (2-12) Column 1&2&3&4, and Page 13 Column 1&2. That would cover all of them, since page 13 only has 2 columns and on page 1 the maximum diameter takes up the first 2 columns. But do we need THAT many record categories?!??!

But the Hall of Fame might be better without any of these, even the max size. I don't know.

BTW I am not jumping at the bit to submit any scores. I would be quite happy with it myself if you never made a Hall of Fame for this game until the American version comes out. But I don't know what other people think about that.

There could be a simple scoreboard, with Size, points and % of each level.

Well, the final number seems to be a bit redundant, as it seems to be directly related to the points score... Size and points seem to be the only two worth tracking, and even then, we're still not _exactly_ how sure points are assigned, at least until the american version.
I think the in-game scoreboard is just something goofy they added in, but I don't think we should really use it, there's not really any point for us to.

In case you missed the other thread, here's why I think points and final number are related:
Stage 1 run 1
48411points
16cm
23

Stage 1 run 2
16293 points
15cm6mm
5

Stage 1 run 3
25130points
16cm5mm
13

My good run was over 100,000 points and got a 94

I think we should forget about that weird scoreboard with the 49 categories. Size and points in the normal stages, and size and special level goals in the themed stages, seem to be the only things worth tracking, like Aaron said.

If you want a simpler scoreboard, you could just do six size categories instead of 16 - one each for all stages ending with a goal of 20cm, 1m50cm, 10m, 70m, 500m, and 1500m.

If it's alright I think I'll start a poll asking which record types people with the game think are worth recording. Cause I am guessing that Vix wants to keep the Hall of Fame scoreboard fairly short and simple.

I don't mind if it's long, look at wlk, lol...I just want it to be "understandable." which is somewhat hard to do without the american version. cause I gotta make the scoreboard and the submit thread...when wlk came ou tin japan, i had a hard time setting up the levels since i couldn't see them myself but i'm more than willing attempt to set it up, it just might get changed when the US version comes out

feel free to make a poll. :china i'd like to know what others think about the scoreboard that have the game.

oops, no quote :doh

About the question marks I used before...

Ant - # Sweets, (Xm?)XXcmXmm
probably doesn't reach meters but I don't know

Monkey - Rating (like Dazzling), (X?)XXmXXcmXmm
very likely doesn't reach hundreds of meters

Crane - # (years? Thank ElPistolerro for this info), (X?)XmXXcmXmm
definitely does reach tens of meters

2D
Evening stage: (X?)XXmXXcmXmm
definitely does reach hundreds of meters

Night stage: (X?)XXmXXcmXmm
definitely does reach hundreds of meters

Hopefully this is a tiny help

Oh man, I thought of something interesting.

A lot of the objects you pick up give you no points at all. I wonder if it would be possible to get through a stage with no points? Eventually, strategy guides to get the LEAST number of points might be just as interesting as strategy guides to get the most points.

edit: sorry, this has nothing to do with this thread.
