Yes, saturday morning I am heading off to my first exam, which sucks. I made some Christmas shopping yesterday and I bought almost everything for this year's present, I can't wait to be done that as well. Lucky Boo is still sleeping while I have to prepare to leave on a saturday morning, of all the days... D: Anyway, anyone in their exam periods? I'm finishing next week on monday, after that I am free. |

Likely. Grade school is kindergarten through 8th(6th, 7th, and 8th can be classifies as junior high). 9th through 12th is high school. After that is college. I went to a university in Philly. |

I guess the folks on trimesters are done and the semester people are just finishing up. Good luck with your finals, everyone. Stu - A college is usually a small school that specializes in one particular degree, but a university is made up of lots of colleges - like Oxford. I think we graduate high school later than they do in England - usually at 17 or 18. |

ok so college is the same as uni then in terms of educational level? over here it goes nursery> primary school consisting of infants school 4-7 years old and junior school 7-11> high/secondary school GCSEs ages 11-16> college usually 2 years for A levels/diplomas >uni for degrees |

I've hever heard of that before. I mean, I applied to three colleges(one classified as a univiersity) and all of them had all sorts of degrees ranging from pre-med to art and evrything in between. But yeah, college would be the same as uni for you, stu. |

Yes, I've had two of my final exams last week, one for my Drawing I class (the assignment in which I totally rushed in at the last minute and my professor said it was one of my best pictures yet *snickers*) and one for my Thanatology course, in which my teacher totally screwed up and didn't bring in enough copies of the test, so we had to work on the exam in groups. I was lucky in that I got paired off with people who had studied like I had. So, my exams so far have been a piece of cake. The harder ones will be coming up this week: Thanatochemistry, Political and Moral Philosophy, and *shudders* Introduction to Infectious Diseases. Ahem... *begin rant* The first two, I don't think I'll have much trouble on, except for the fact that the paper due for the Philosophy class was technically due yesterday (it's an online class). Now, as for the third one, I have no idea how I'm going to remember all those diseases/bacteria/viruses/regions/symptoms without burning out my mind and driving myself insane in the process, and this is coming from a relatively good student. I'm just not all that good with memorizing long lists of things, and that is going to kill me, I swear This is on top of that three-day sale they just had at the grocery store I work at, combined with general holiday rush, combined with some horrible customer who caused me to get written up by forging a check which I failed to notice (a big to that! It was only $17.95, but still, I'm written up! I swear, if I ever see her again...), all of which is totally stressful in and of itself, without having exams to worry about. Or this terrible cesspool of melodrama and rumors that has now become my life since I started working at Food Lion... it's a very long story, believe me, and I come out seeming very naive, foolish, and a bit shallow in the end. *end rant*Queenie, you are so lucky to have your Christmas shopping done already. I envy you! Of course, knowing me, I'll probably not go shopping until the day before Christmas Eve anyway. But I have so many people to shop for, including some new additions! I think I should just take a vacation from Christmas in general this year; to be honest, it really isn't turning out to be my cup of tea this time around
EDIT: This is a bit off-topic, but I couldn't help but notice the new names for the forums. They are really cute, I'm guessing you've all had your part in contributing them? Kudos
