Has anyone gotten any cool presents yet? Yesterday we had our big family party thing with a secret santa gift swap. My mom ended up being my secret santa so I got stuff I wanted lol. 1) Rapala Fishing for the Wii (haven't tried it yet but it should be fun) 2) the Circa Survive CD |

I won't be home until the 22nd, and we wait until after church on the 24th anyways. I did already order a present for myself off Amazon and sent it home. A Claymation Christmas from the late eighties (I am in a Christmas mood). |

Wow, Hellyes, you guys do Christmas early. No presents for me yet except the ones I bought myself while shopping for everyone else So far I've gotten myself a couple of fleece pullovers, two pairs of boots (couldn't decide, so I bought both), and a really cute sweater dress. I put out the word that i wanted Animal Crossing for Christmas, so I figure that'll be under the tree.

I don't open them until christmas, but for sure i'll receive a nintendo ds from my mom and dad. And I'll buy Mario Kart DS with my money. I'm not expecting other gaming-related games, this should be the only one. Then I'll try to save as much as I can, since by next Christmas I'd love to buy a new electric guitar. |

Omfg. Whatever you say Queenie. Do you write greeting cards, too? :rolleyes :rolleyes :rolleyes That is worthy of 3 eye rolls. Wait, I spoke too soon... :rolleyes four. Lo7, I got my mom a white DS lite for xmas, she wanted a pink one but the DS was sold out all over the place. I was lucky to even find the white one at the store. I got her Tetris and some other puzzle game with it. Kickstart, yeah it is mostly because different parts of our family are going to different places for actual xmas day and xmas eve, so we made a day ahead of time where we could all get together (aunts uncles cousins things like that). On the actual holiday it'll probably just be my immediate family so we didn't exchange gifts with each other yet. It was just a big secret santa with everyone on sunday and I just happened to luck out and get my mom lol. On the other hand, I was my cousin's husband's (that I barely know) secret santa, so that was definitely a challenge. I ended up getting him two golf books and that Totally 80s Trivial Pursuit game cause it looks like fun. |

We're doing the big family thing on Christmas. I got gifts for my immediate family, but we're doing Secret Santa for the extended family. I got movie passes for my person. I don't really know her, so I thought movie passes would be a sure thing. Secret Santa gift exchanges are supposed to be secret but everyone always ends up blabbing who they got because if they don't know the person, then they have to ask around. Or people start trading names. Ever notice how you either always get the same name or, if you don't like someone, you'll get their name?

Haha, yeah. My brother was my mom's secret santa and the day he found out he was like "guess what mom, I'm your secret santa!!!" and then my mom got all upset cause he ruined it My brother is about as good at keeping secrets now as he was when we were kids lol.We had strict rules this time that we weren't allowed to trade with anyone. It sucked cause I saw a book being promoted on The Daily Show (I think, maybe Colbert Report) called Freakonomics, and I was like "ooh that would be perfect for my uncle" and then my dad ended up being my uncle's secret santa and I sooo wanted to trade. But I told my dad about my idea and he ended up getting it for my uncle anyway. It was weird for me getting Mark cause I really don't know him at all. So I had my mom call my aunt and ask her what he might want. So the golf books were her idea (though I got him funny golf books instead of serious ones) and the board game was my idea. It was hard cause we were supposed to spend $50 and like, that's a lot to spend on someone you really don't know anything about. I was really lucky my mom was my secret santa cause she knows what I like I might have to try out Rapala Fishing tonight, I've been listening to my new CD exclusively in the car since I got it.

I guess you don't understand my way of the Christmas spirit... Too bad. I'd rather receive nothing for Christmas then be selfish of some sort. Or perhaps I don't explain myself right. |

No Queen. You are coming across with a holier than thou attitude. Like you're implying that I (or anyone else that is commenting with what gifts they got) are selfish in some way, and I think that's bull. Every person that has commented in this thread has mentioned some place else about getting gifts for other people. It isn't selfish to have a thread about what presents you've gotten, sorry to bust your bubble, and I don't appreciate that you've been trying to make it that way. Are you donating everything your parents give you to charity or poor kids? I really doubt it. |

I finally got Photoshop CS2! My aunt got me an ipod nano as well, and I also recieved some cds and clothing. I got a lot this year because my family (counting cousins/aunts/uncles/etc.) is very big, so we give and recieve a lot. Giving wise, I got my sister the new Rayman game and my friend a 40$ Gamestop gift card. I also helped pitch in with other people to get gifts for everyone. |

I gave my friends and family about 800$ worth of gifts, between video games, DVDs, and books... @_@ Meanwhile, I didn't get much in return, but that doesn't matter to me =3 I've also spent about an equal amount to that on myself buying a ton of DS games, a couple PS2 games, and a PSP with Loco Roco (And I have Me & My Katamari coming in the mail, about a week after my eCheck clears...) Oh, and hi, everyone! Did you miss me? |

A bunch of gift cards - Target, Macy's, Starbuck's, Apple Store. I also got wooly boots, really strange coaster set from my aunt (her taste and mine are so opposite, but she means well). Still have some gifts coming, some of my family won't get together till this weekend, and some of my friends I'll see during the week. I gave t-shirts, books, DVD's, jackets, cookies, plus I took some people out for lunch/dinner/drinks. |
