Oddly enough, this is far from cold considering what the weather has been...but it's actually cold enough here in my cave(room) for me to wear gloves. I'm sitting here freezing. I keep my door shut at night so that the tv, etc doesn't bother anyone but even during the day, it's cold in here. Mostly cause I have a sheet hanging over my door cause everyone in the house smokes and I don't I hate that it would "infect" my room so I hung a sheet up...but that prevents the heat from circulating right. I mean, only a few days ago, it was in the high 50's here when it should be in the low 30's or lower here... This weather is nuts. |

It's very cold in my house today, too. I still have my shoes and socks on but my feet feel like ice. I am a big wuss when it comes to cold weather though, and my parents tend to keep the house way cooler than I ever kept my apartments. When I lived alone I used to CRANK it up lol. Whenever we have a fire in the fireplace here I sit directly in front of it all night

Oh man, I would love to have a fireplace. I'd be in heaven. I have slippers on, I couldn't sit in sneakers all day. I need a heated blanket or something.

My mom has one of those heating pads and I like to steal it from her as much as possible It's like instant warmness. My first apartment had a fireplace, but omg it ended up being a disaster. I went to class one day and when I came home my cat (she was a kitten then and I had just gotten her) had somehow gotten herself into the fireplace and tracked little sooty footprints all over the carpet and furniture. And what made it even better is that my cat has white mittens, so her feet were all like black mittens lol. It was a huge mess but it was kinda funny. So now next place I live I hope it has one of those fake fireplaces so we don't have that problem again. |

my weather is usually the same as you two girls, just a lil warmer (just a couple hours south of you). i used my fireplace last year for the first time. nice to look at but it makes the house way colder! i keep the heat up in my house so i dont have to wear gloves! poor vixie.you may want to get a space heater. i rec' a radiator style space heater for a single room. not too bad on electricity and once it gets your room warm it stays warm. i fear my kitties getting in the fireplace too. i have had the glass doors shut since i adopted them. let us know how the filming goes stu. |

Very cold here during winter time, it can get to -40 degrees celcius. So here in my cave, yes, it's cold too. |

I don't mind the cold that much. I just have a hard time staying warm. I always mean to snag some of them hand warmers but I always forget. |

My room tends to be the warmest place in my parent's house maybe cause my bedroom is the only room with carpet (yes I put carpet over hardwood floors when I was a teenager ) and I think it helps hold in the heat. But that is just a guess. If we don't have a fire our living room gets so cold I don't know how my parents can stand it.I hate the cold aside from three things 1) I prefer running in the cold to running in any heat, 2) my hair cooperates better when it's cold than when it's hot or humid, and 3) there aren't any annoying bugs trying to bite me outside!

My floor is tile so it's even worse. And the heat tends to work when it wants. I can be in my room and the radiator is ice cold but go in teh bathroom or gram's room(which are on the same floor) and they're hot. Go figure. |

Argh tile??? That has to be brutal to step on when you get out of bed in the morning. I hope you sleep with cozy socks on! The heating in my first apartment was weird like that, it didn't go out evenly. Like it would be cool in the living room, but it would turn into a sauna in my computer room. I'd like be in a T shirt in front of the computer and then have to put a hoodie on to go get a glass of water My second apartment was that way with the air conditioning, even though I changed around all the vents. It would be cold downstairs and like 90 degrees upstairs in my bedroom. Then again obviously I understand the physics that cold air is heavier than hot air, but it as still a huge pain to try and regulate. |

Hahaha. I have a small rug next to my bed and i keep a pair of slippers there. And of course, it's hotter in here in the summer than the rest of the house but I don't mind the sweating as much as I mind the shivering. I used to sleep with something like 7 blankets and I still would shiver at night. But the one heavy blanket, my cats took over as a floor bed now so I can't take it back from them. I do have two smaller fleeces I could add to my bed though. That would make the total 6. |

It doesn't get that cold in LA, but sometimes the nights are freezing. The temperature swings up to 30 degrees so the difference makes it seem worse. Lately it's been in the 60's during the day and 30's at night. Brrrrr. I hate being cold, but especially hate when my feet get cold, then I'm really miserable. Have you seen those microwaveable beanie bag things that you zap for a couple of minutes? They're awesome. They don't stay warm forever, but at least there's no cord and you won't forget to turn them off. The best though is a couple of fat cats. Get one to sit on your lap while you're on the sofa, then slip your feet under the other one on the floor. Mmmmm...toasty. |

Oh yeah, I have one of them bags. It's actually filled with corn and you heat it up and use for sore muscles or put it in the fridge for cold. We had a fat cat who was about 20+ pounds and then suddenly he lost all the weight and it down to under 10. Vet says he's healthy though. We used to have a super skinny lap cat that would throw off heat like you wouldn't believe. he'd be on your lap from the moment you woke up until you went to bed but he passed last winter. It's just weird how the weather is so up and down lately. |

Okay, this is nuts! I was at Target looking at snow stuff because I'm going snowboarding tomorrow and, get this, they had racks and racks of new swimwear out. WTF? No one, not even in California is going to go in the water now. They're insane. |

I'm so used to xmas time being cold that I think I would have a hard time adjusting to it being warm.
