Teacher Troubles; Need Advice Concerning E-mail

I'm doing an internship this summer and I'm using it to count for credit hours for school. I e-mailed my adviser asking him if 110 hours was enough time to put in, since that is what I estimated by the time I finished. I e-mailed him a week ago now and he still hasn't written me back. I also e-mailed him when I had three weeks to add in more time if I need it, but now I only have two weeks and I don't see him e-mailing me back anymore, to be honest. Although my internship technically lasts until December, I will have no time to do it during school since they would be closed when I finish school for the day and drive there.

At this point, I really don't know what to do. Should I e-mail him again? I don't know what else to do, besides that, and I don't want to seem annoying. Also, why would he answer the second, but not the first? I just don't want to walk in with my internship papers and him tell me I need 20 more hours, or whatever.

And this isn't the first time he's done something like this. I've asked him once to write me a letter of recommendation and waited two weeks. When I asked him, he said that he had forgotten about it. Good thing that I only needed one letter, although two would have been better.

Any ideas? Should I even be worried about it, since I tried to contact him?

Run you clever boy and remember...

do you have a phone number perhaps?

maybe he's on vacation?

maybe you could contact another professor or the head of the department?

vix is right.
she said exactly what i was going to say.

contact another professor in writing if you need evidence, or CC someone in for now on.

I never thought to phone. I'll look up his number tomorrow and give him a ring.

The school I go to is very small and the only other person I have to contact is head of the department, although I know very well that she is going to say to contact my original teacher since the internship is directed under him, not her.

Like I said, I'll call him.

Thanks

Hope you're able to clear things up, flea. I'm sure it was just a case of lost e-mail. It's easy, if you get a lot of mail, to just forget you need to get back to someone because it's a ton of e-mails back and doesn't even show up on the screen anymore unless you scroll way down. I never assume someone got my e-mail. There are some many things that could happen: spam filters, ISP glitches (yours and theirs), bounces. It's best to err on the side of too cautious, I say. Especially if it results in you not getting your credits.
