Run you clever boy and remember...

I've been doing some behind the scenes stuff lately, hoping zeta comes soon and making things easier for me to transition the board.

So my newest question is this.

Since the clubs aren't mandatory and are for only those that are interested in joining them, should post count be turned off in them like they are in the spam forums?

Yes, turn post count off.

or

No, keep post count on.

I've included the obligatory poll since I rarely get replies if there isn't a poll. :P

I figure that since not everyone will be involved in clubs(much like the spam forums), that it only makes sense to turn of the post count in there. It's not adding to the theme of the board so it should matter as much as the main forums. The way you've been talking it seems that the clubs will just be side stuff for us to talk about without interfering with Katamari so it shouldn't add overall. But that's just me. :)

I have 2 questions, or maybe 3. I don't know.

First off, what are clubs? Are you talking about groups of people? Explain the whole concept to me (or us) please. Maybe in another locked thread so people could know.

Secondly, what places will I post in and not get added to my post count score? I always wondered.

Also, will editing a post count as another post in itself?

When does someone become a cousin or second cousin? If someone had posted in a place where posts counted in the past, but don't count now, does said person get subtracted the posts made from his or her count?

And do the amount of Prince icons relate to the amount of posts so said person makes?

This should explain what clubs are.

Currently, right now there are only three forums that don't count towards post count. The Database and the two spam games forums.

Not sure what you mean by that.

I doubt anyone would get subtracted posts. I think it would be more of a hassle to go and look to see who posted where to then edit their post count.

Yep, I believe it only goes up to 12 little princes.

clubs are a new feature in the new forum software that we'll be getting when the upgrade is released. current post counts won't change or anything like that.

if you want to see what the clubs look like, sign up at the katamati beta board and go into your profile and look for the link that says joinable clubs. once you join the a club, you should see an extra forum on the board. clubs are simply forums that you sign up for.

so i figure, to avoid drawing away from out main subject, we take subjects that others are interested in, like halo, and make a club out of it. that way those that are really interested in it can chat about it without clogging up the video games forum. etc.
