Ok, so another random q. are you still interested in clubs? the basics of clubs are this: the new forum software will let us have the ability to have forums that are hidden from everyone unless your a member of the club that uses that forum. for example: if there was a simpsons fan club, you wouldn't see that particular forum unless you signed up for it. other examples could include gta, halo, music games, tv shows, etc. the whole point of not everyone seeing it was so that if people aren't remotely interested in the non-katamari stuff, they don't have to see it. it gives us room to expand without disrupting the main katamari theme. so if there were enough people who were interested in, say katamari role playing for example, a club could be set up and those who are interested in it would sign up. if i remember correctly as far as the katamari themed fan clubs go, we came up with two a while ago. Cousin Country, a fan club where there would be a topic for each cousin so that people could discuss each cousin individually and Poll Station, a club for katamari polls(cousin vs cousin, cousin vs whatever, etc). Granted, we don't have to still do this. The question is if people are still interested in clubs. |

i like to see all of the topics. the only ones i really don't care to read are the ones in the spirit of fun. other than that i like reading about all other types of video games and things like that. |

When video games play you!

I wouldn't mind it if the mods or the admins had their own hidden thread- and I'm pretty sure you guys do, maybe, I think- but to be honest, I wouldn't like the idea of clubs. We already have a Video Games and other misc. stuff thread, after all, and I think it's been doing its job fine. And I agree- I wouldn't want to miss something interesting simply because I'm not part of a club. I do, however, like the idea of having some sort of way to show that we belong to a certain group of fans, for example anime fans, cartoon fans, console fans, series fans, or something. Maybe some sort of badge system that mimics the look and feel of Xbox 360's achievements? It might also be cool to have some sort of way to show our ranking on the Scoreboards and whether or not we have all the achievements from BK straight from our profiles, but... it's all aesthetic, really. And a GamerTag (or a MyGamerCard.net image) already does the job pretty well, I think. So, meh. |

So if most of you don't want clubs, do you still want the extra forums? |

i have seen some gamer forums that had way too many places to post stuff and everyone got lost, so they just posted anywhere. i think you have one of the most organized sites i have ever hung around on vix. seriously. |

I'm asking because I already have the clubs set up on the board(just waitin to upgrade) and if we aren't going to use them, then I'm gonna delete the permission masks and forums and what not. |

I don't really plan to belong to any of the clubs, or if I do I probably won't actively post much in their forums, but I think they sound like a good idea. Then again I'd personally probably select the "join all" option if there is one ... that sounds like a very good idea to have. Even if I have no interest in ER I might like to see what the people here have to say about ER once in a while (lol, if there was actually an ER club :heh). |
