This was one of the original topics on this forum over 5 years ago. Now that we have new members (whether you created your account yesterday or 3 years ago), how did you find out about katamari? If you've already told your story in the original topic, you don't have to, of course. :P

Here's the old topic:

In 2007, I went over to a friend's house and she sat me down and said, "You have to play this game. It's so random. You'll love it!" She started playing MAS 2 of Katamari Damacy, and demonstrated the controls. Then I tried... and the angels started to sing. :lol We played 2-player for about an hour; that's when I thought "this is the game for me."

On June 27, 2008, I walked into our public library to return some books and check out new ones, and came across the video game rack and started to browse. To my surprise, I found Katamari Damacy sitting there, and I remembered that day a year ago and how fun the game was. I checked it out for $2 and 5 days. It was the best $2 I've ever spent. I got through the whole game and tried my favorite levels again, and so forth. :love

Then on July 13, 2008, I got KD for my birthday, and fell into the katamari trance all over again. I got We Love Katamari on November 8, 2008, and then Me & My Katamari on August 11, 2009.

Ahhh, it was a few years ago...

I saw a review of We Love Katamari on the TV channel Toonami, and me and my siblings thought it looked funny. We didn't bother getting it until a couple years later, though...
Sadly, my brother bought it, but I hogged it so much that... Well, my brother doesn't like playing games if me or my sisters are playing it, so when I started to play it, he didn't want to. His loss. :P
It made me furious. I kept losing on ALAP1. Ticked me off so bad.

But then I got used to the controls, and I got so good at it... I put it down for a while (mainly due to my sore thumbs), but I picked it up again and went crazy (my thumbs were totally blisters).
Then I got my camera last January, and I've been recording it when I find I have a good score... Sadly, my controller broke, so I have to wait for my new one before I can record again. :P
I also got KD last Christmas, but I didn't like it. Maybe it was because I couldn't restart stages conveniently, maybe it was because you can easily get stuck and have things fly off your Katamari, maybe it was because you got stuck climbing up hills... Maybe there wasn't enough to pick up? The King wasn't as funny, possibly? Who knows. But now I feel bad. :'<

I hope to get to play Beautiful Katamari and Katamari Forever someday...

In 2007 my momma bought We Love Katamari for my little brother. I thought it looked soo lame. Curiousity got the better of me though, I took it for a spin, and immediately fell in love. A few days later I bought my own copy.

I was looking for a cool video game with my dad at gamestop and the cashier highly suggested Katamari Damacy, a while later, my dad actually bought it, I played it and I was like "IT'S..............BEAUTIFUL".

Years ago, I actually played WLK (and maybe a bit of KD, I don't really know for sure) at my local Boys and Girls Club. When I first heard "Dan Don Fuga," I actually thought it was composed by Mark Mothersbaugh. :dead

I somehow found it all over again on YouTube earlier on this year.

Mine is lame. My brother brought KD home, and I walked upstairs and saw him picking up Thumbtacks.
8 hours later were were Making the Moon and playing 2 player as we laughed about every single hilarious thing the developers put in the levels.

1 or 2 years later, I got We Love for my Birthday and in January my brother got Katamari Forever. I'm trying to get an Xbox and Beaultiful as well as I'm trying to get Me and My.

I played a demo of WLK and I failed one mission and gave up. After that, my sister played it a lot with her friends.
