I don't know whether or not the same topic was posted here some time ago, but anyways... I started playing Katamari back in 2006. That was 4 years ago. I played both Katamari Damacy and We <3 Katamari, back then. |

There have been similar topics, but no worries ![]() I first played katamari about a year after KD was released and only a few months before WLK was released. I had heard of katamari in EGM back when it was about to be released, but I don't know, it just sounded taboo, like something that would be so fun that it might make me appreciate other games less or something so I didn't buy it right away. I felt the same way at first about Pokemon (and didn't play that right away, and ended up loving that series, just like katamari).

I started the day the first one came out...or perhaps a day or so later since it took me a few stores to finally find one that had a copy. |

I too first saw KD in egm before it came to the states. I was very intrigued to say the least and sought it out not long after it came here. Id say I was a first gen player but didnt get obsessive about it till a 360 fell in my lap a year after BK's release. I had always wanted to roll with other players and couldn't till then. Even though the ol there is severely limited and hamstrung by terminal lag its a good place to meet like minded people. I dare say it may be the nicest crowd on the c*ckbox

Q: When did you start playing Katamari? A: After putting the disc in my PS2, I waited for the game to load. Then there were a few cutscenes and BAM! I started playing katamari! DERP

Well, about a year after KD was released, my brother got it, and I instantly fell in love, he finished it, and got 800M on Make the Moon, so he was done, but I played like, obsessively. A while later I saw a video of a level from BK, asked the person what level from KD it was, and she said it wasn't from KD, but BK! And she said she wanted WLK, well, at that moment, I did too, and on my next birthday, I got it. Then in...November I think, my brother got Katamari Forever and I fell back in love. On Monday, my copy of MMK should get here. (Still don't have a Million roses) |

So much details you put into your first times makes me wanna put details in mine, too. My real first time playing Katamari was in 2005(?) when I played the demo disc that came with Soul Calibur III, which was rented by my sister's boyfriend at the time. I played the demo of WLK and I failed the first time and quit because I didn't know the controls. A while later, my sister got KD and WLK and played it a lot with her friends. I gave KD a try and I finally got used to the controls, thanks to the tutorial at the beginning. After I finished KD, I moved on to WLK. Soon, I was even better at Katamari than my sister. I even finished the 1 million roses stage. Overall, I enjoyed Katamari a lot. A year later, I got MMK, and I enjoyed that too. Also, my sister traded in KD and WLK at EB Games. I was pissed off at that. Over a year ago, I bought KD at EBG, along with a bunch of other PS2 games that, in the past, I have enjoyed but traded in. I still need to buy WLK and BK. Unfortunately, I deleted my game saves for KD and WLK when I didn't have them. I had a lot of games but so little space in my 8 MB memory card.

Nope, Still Dead

Back in 2003, I got Katamari Damacy as a birthday present from my parents. It looked pretty strange, but then I got to play it - and loved it. A year or two later, I heard that Keita Takahashi was producing a sequel - We Love Katamari. Katamari Damacy itself was fun, but We Love was what really got me hooked on the franchise. |

Katamari Damacy: I remember, I think shortly after it came out I received it as a birthday present and thoroughly played and enjoyed it. We Love Katamari: I remember, I think shortly after it came out I received it as a birthday present and thoroughly played and enjoyed it. Deja vu much? Beautiful Katamari: Took a while. One of my friends had an Xbox 360, so I went out to get it with a friend. "I'm going to go get BK" I said. "Oh, let me start getting my order ready..." (confusion) "Oh, you mean Beautiful Katamari?" Katamari Forever: I remember, I think shortly after it came out I received it as a birthday pre- never mind. |

It's been said before on a topic very similar, but whatever. A GameStop employee suggested it so I bought KD and I had like just gotten into video games a little while ago, I don't really remember what year exactly, but it was way before BK and KF were out. So I had the pleasure of having Katamari Damacy as one of the first video games I ever played . And since I like playing series of video games in order, I then bought WLK, (which I somehow didn't like as much as KD I just couldn't feel much originality in it but still loved anyway). Much much later when vidya games were a hobby of mine, I got BK because my stepmom had an X360 and I just couldn't wait to buy a PSP and play MMK to play(she actually had a PSP the whole time, I didn't know it though) so I played BK without the dlc for a while, but then I went crazed for finding a PSP so I could play MMK and then play BK with the dlc. So eventually I found out that my stepmom actually had one, got MMK for my birthday(I still remember I was at a Japanese restaurant celebrating when I received the present) beat it eventually and then got an Xbox live account so I could get DLC and had the best day of my life finally having something new to do in BK. and finally, I got a ps3 for my next birthday, (actually I can't remember if it was the same birthday or not) and bought KF but didn't even play it until I had beaten MMK and BK first (I'm very strange that way, as I think I have said before) and I beat the other two and today I have nearly beaten KF. All I need is an Ethernet cable so I can get the rankings lover trophy and beat the game. Wow. Looking up a little, did I really just type all that?
