hello
|
So I was thinking about how the touch-pad would work in a Katamari game. It could be used to roll the ball like in TMK. What else could it be used for?

Ugh, I'm so over gaming gimmicks. They need to go away. But if there is a next gen, I could see it being used for the same thing in TMK or maybe you swipe to jump. God willing, if it happens, the touch pad could be disabled. |

"or maybe you swipe to jump." You mean like in Katamari Forever? I would love to see the jump return. |

I would love to see the jump return but would love it to be a button press. |

I should have said, "stay" a button press. I'm not one for gimmicks. I want a controller without a touchpad or at the very least, the ability to disable it for games but much like the six axis...I think you'll be forced to use it in every launch game until they realize how it's a pointless, sucky feature. |

If they did use a touch screen, I'm guessing they'd either make it an alternate control scheme or bring back the stretching feature. The jump should definitely come back somehow. Other than that... maybe a Broken Heart-style system, where after you get a certain power-up, you can draw things into your Katamari by dragging them on your touch screen? Of course, you'd have to be able to turn that off, too. |

i actually really liked the stretching system from TMK, the number of times i was able to skew myself so i could get at a curio i was to big for or a cousin i missed are uncountable. |
