hello
Using Google Trends, I've seen that people are losing interest in katamari. Namco Bandai better make another game soon.

Well, when every time you make a new game you put it on a new console, the popularity is gonna take a nose dive. I seriously do not understand their line of thought with the series and their apparent hate of it. I guess it just doesn't rake in the money to make it a viable series which is seriously sad.

Once again, I don't think Namco hates Katamari, the series is not like Megaman or Sonic, where you can just pump up a new game every year, Katamari was meant to be a special kind of game, a kind of game that everyone gets excited with a new announcement because we didn't have a new entry for a while.

I mean, if Katamari had a recent history like Megaman, then I would understand that Namco clearly hates it, but that's not the case.

If it was that special of a game, they wouldn't have released one just about every year since it came out (2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2009, 2012...NA years). :P Or a rehash that claimed to be a "new" game. Not to mention the knock off katamari games like that DS one. I totally think namco hates the series. They tried to milk it and it ended up biting them in the ass because of the way they did it. Now, I think it's a series that has cult status.

I mean, despite the fact that I own the ps2 version...I still bought the psn version that came out. I'd buy a psn version of mmk or tmk if they made them. I'd galdly play mmk again with controls that don't suck so much you want to chuck the system out a window. :lol

Where the controls for MMK that bad? I mean, I know you use the D-pad and the symbols buttons.

To me, it just didn't feel as responsive as the sticks were.

Everyday with rain...

I don't know... if they hated the series, I don't know why:

-- They'd be publishing a webcomic of it.
-- They're crossing over said webcomic with Galaga
-- They're creating a new cousin for their Namco High dating sim crossover, including polling fans to see which design they should use.

Now mishandling the series... That's definitely happened. No denying that. As it is, though, all we can really do is wait and see, while continuing to support and show interest in whatever they give us. So read the webcomics and give them feedback, I suppose...

A webcomic is easier to make than a game, I spose. Shiftylook is owned by Namco so it makes sense they do it and eventually do some sort of cross over with another series. There is definitely a market for webcomics these days.

When I say they hate the series...I mean more how they've treated it. MMK starting the "let's move to a new console for every sequel" mantra. The dlc debacle in BK. KF being a greatest hits version. A Korean only online mmo style game. I spose that could be the same as mishandling.

They've wasted a lot of opportunity with the series.

Psp one was weak and introduced terrible ideas. Vita one felt like half a game.
