I'm pretty surprised by the lengthy list of out lesbian/bi footballers. But only two for Germany, really? Maybe they're just afraid of the drama. Anyone else, any countries, I missed? OP, where did you see this list of out footballers? Have they all actually come out? Landstrom is hot. I agree it's surprising that more players on the German squad aren't out. I believe there's a very large # of "common knowledge" lez players though, including but not limited to Hingst, Lingor, Smisek, and Minnert. |

Actually, Bresonik is now in a relationship with a man. Grings and Bresonik were a couple for 5 years. Grings left her for a man, Bresonik wanted her back but ended up getting together with the man Grings had left her for after they broke up. She's been with the guy for more than 2 years now. How about THAT for drama? |

Nordby came out to a Norwegian paper. Landstrom and Svenssen to a Swedish one (Svenssen's wife just had a child before she went to the olympics). Bresonik and Grings had that ridiculously dramatic relationship. Kai mentioned her gf in an interview. The other three Norwegians were listed on a Scandinavian resource and in english on AE. The 'Gayest Olympic Sport' thread inspired me to start this one. It seems Scandinavia has no problem with coming out, but the rest seem to be "common knowledge." They would make the list pretty long. |

How could you leave out Martina Voss?  She dated Grings before Bresonik. They were on the national team together during the world cup, had a break up and Voss was sent home before it was over. They all played for Duisburg when Grings started dating Bresonik. At one point Bresonik made some nasty remarks about Voss being an old dyke, or something along those lines. Fast forward past the Grings/Bresonik break up and both are scheduled (after Bresonik took off to play elsewhere for awhile) to be playing on the same team. Plus, Voss just happens to be the coach of that team. It doesn't get more dramatic than that. |

Grings is a pretty good player but she seems to have been blacklisted from the national team, unsurprisingly. Their coach doesn't seem to like taking on players that bring the drama, regardless of how talented they are. |

Grings is a great player but has a bit of a diva attitude. Not surprisingly, that doesn't sit well with any coach since she's not THAT great. |

Nadine Angerer - lesbian Ursula Holl - no clue, sorry 3:21 Kerstin Stegemann - lesbian Saskia Bartusiak - lesbian, apparently dated Smisek Babett Peter - no clue Annike Krahn - lesbian Linda Bresonik - already covered Renate Lingor - lesbian, apparently dated/dating Louise Hansen from the Danish team  Fatmire Bajramaj - straight Simone Laudehr - straight Celia Okoyino da Mbabi - straight Kerstin Garefrekes -no clue Sandra Smisek - lesbian Birgit Prinz - apparently straight, who knew? I feel bad for England not being able to compete in the Olympics because athletes are fielded under Great Britain. Anyone know anything about Kelly Smith? She's an amazing player, when she's at full strength, which doesn't seem to be often enough. I've heard that she's had a bf at some point. But then I've also heard that her and Hope Powell are suspiciously close, especially with Powell helping her through all her injury struggles. |

Why are they always putting the German women in dresses? I remember seeing some pictures of them playing in dresses for some other promo and Nadine Angerer looked completely awkward. |
