The HMS Beautiful Crone, flagship of his Highness, the Duke of Nautilla, came into the horizon dwarfing the other ships that were busy with their trade. It also made several captains a bit envy to a point. Built entirely from scratch, properly stacked, equipped and modified -- the Beautiful Crone was one of few privately owned steamships of the line that can easily rival an Imperial Monitor Ship, this being a no mere feat in terms of tactical ships engagements. At the helm of the ship, was Maximillian Gennadius Worthington the August, recently returned from a small expedition to the wineries of Karl Bacchus, a well known purveyor of fermented grapes from the Eriol region. In the belly of the ship lay Maximillian's hunting trophies -- several cases of vintage fermented grapes, bottled elegantly in highly fragile bottles. Giving the signal to the crew to prepare docking procedures, Maximillian relished at the thought that he would soon be sipping away into the late hours of the night. The crew, a trained handful started sending out signals and preparing the anchors. It would be a smooth operation thought Maximillian. The docking procedure was quite easy, all you had to do was drive through the buffers and the dock mechanics take's care of the ship cables and anchors. Maximillian then gave a few orders to start unloading a few of the crates since he wanted to give some to the club members in the city. With all his work done, Maximillian took a nice long breather, and started walking down the ramp. It would have gone much easier if not for the efficiently placed banana peel on the ramp ladders. Given elements of the physical frame, the weight ratio and the natural laws of physics - Maxmillian Gennadius Worthington, High Lord, Duke of Nautilla, came tumbling down the ramp, rolling towards the well placed salt sacks and crashed gracefully into an area where by some miracle, all the crates were placed quite nicely. |
