"A pity she can't be with her own kind, but she seems to have a very good home with you." She decided she might as well get rid of one bottle. and so in a few swift swigs she finished of the half full one. She set it next to one of the crates. She raised her eyebrows, "It seems I'd best get out of here soon if I want to see anything of that world. I've heard of those Sandwhales though. It's always been hard to get anything out of the deserts. I've heard of a number of camp that just disappear in the night. A couple of survivors claim that the sand rose and then fell, taking pretty much everything with it. Best guess is that the whales tunnel under an' their tunnels collapse. She jumped out of the way of the oncoming water, jumping on one of the crates. Her foot had gotten wet, she shook it a couple times to try to get it a little dry. Her biggest priority right now was the bottle in her pocket and her book. Her shoe was wet now, she sat down on the crate and took it off, wringing as much of the fabric so she wouldn't have to get out of the Docks using a squelching shoe. "Testing me are you? Well even if I don't really like it, it's a good excuse to convince myself with in the meantime. From here at least I can smell the spices from Livlitu, and see the Grer monkey shipments from Heyt." She said mournfully. "If those scribes can do better, let me in let me in, I say. Any requirements aside men throwing buckets of water at you? I'd be a lot of help in places where the breathing can't go. What I wouldn't do." She put the shoe back on her foot. She set her vest back in place and climbed down from the crate, straightening her pants on the way. "Now there's no sense sitting around by a large group of crates drinking wine, got anything else interesting on that ship of your I should know about. If I can get into those scribes, I might as well keep myself on my feet. We could definitively set up a nice system of trade. Standing next to him, while he was sitting definitely felt belittling , she was small for a Terebori, but not immensely, but by god, the only race she wasn't dwarfed by were well dwarfs. But he was right, the city was no place for her. They may be nooks and crannys here and there but eventually you knew it all. Even the village back in the swamp where she came from was far more interesting. |
